hello everyone

I am new and plan on taking a trip with my husband and 2 girls (ages 2 and 8) to Orlando Fl. May 17 - 22... we plan on visiting disney, universal and island of adventure... I have done so much searching for hotels, flights, ticket prices and so on.... I finally came across a hotel that had a great price! I would love to hear some feed back on this hotel and others i also found...

Cheapest one was Days Inn Suites Old Town cost would be $294.11 for the entire time of our stay.., they have a kitchen, and free transp. to all the parks we want to vist, which means we can save money on food by cooking it our selves and not have to worry about renting a car.... I noticed the hotel has a catch about needing to rent dishes from them for a fee... which is fine, we can easily bring paper plates, platic ware and a pot or two with us.... but how is the hotel its self? is it a good place for such a great price?

The second hotel is called Hawthorn Suites near Universal

the also offer free transp. to all parks, and has a fully equipped kitchen with the utensils :) .... they are a bit more $551.93

and the last place i found was Quality Suites at Disney's Maingate

they also offer the same as the two abouve their price is $530.82

has anyone stayed in these hotels and can you give me possitive or negitive feed back on them?

as for flight we plan to go use jet blue they have the cheapest air fare

as for park tickets,

Universal studios, I came across a deal that seems to good to be true... 2 days 2 parks kids ticket free and 3 days free, so you get 5 days 2 parks and a free childs ticket for 5 days 2 parks, for 99.00... I was told this can only be purchased online and I could pick up the tickets at the park through the Electronic ticket booth free of charge, has anyone used this and has there been any problems getting your tickets?

as for disney were gonna get the 4 day hopper passes

so basicly any info would be great weather it be good or bad, we have never been here before and don't want to end up in a vacation from heck :scared1:

thanks so much
Heidi

I have heard nothing good at all about the Day Inn Suite old town.
I bought Universal tickets on line two years ago and picked them up at the park. It was easy.

universal and WDW are not that close to each other. You are dealing with a very busy city - getting back and forth to the parks could easily be an hour.

secondly don't stay offsite unless you willing to get a rental car.

most offsite places offer a bus 2 times in the morning and 2 times in the evening - they generally leave before the park closes (half the fun of WDW is the fireworks at night when the parks is closing). If you miss their bus you get to take a taxi - EXPENSIVE!

get a rental car at the airport.

Old Towne has gone down - you would think being between WDW and Celebration it would improve right?

now - when I was there someone shoot some else for a few lousy dollars....
Yes this could happen anywhere. but I don't want to be in the motel next to this thing when it happens again.

besides there is a Motel 6 very close to your day inn that I would pick first - it is out of the way not directly along the highway.

with your family you want something in a safe area. Don't make a big mistake trying to safe a few pennies. You might consider waiting until you can afford to stay closer to WDW.

Pick either Universal or WDW - if you really want to try US/IOA then do it and SW. Leave WDW for another trip. If you really want to do WDW - then don't try anything else for this trip.

these parks are BIG - you are taking on too much.

Now I am not against anyone saving money! Hey that is why I am constantly looking on skyauction and hotelkingdom and some others that have good rates...

but you want your family to be safe. Add up the costs. - all the costs.

please reconsider the car issue. Rental cars in Orlando are not that expensive. Yes, you would have to consider parking fee - $9 per day (not per park at WDW) all the parks (WDW, US/IOA, SW).

secondly for WDW alone you will need at least 7 days. So consider a timeshare on skyauction. going to WDW is alot of WORK. do your homework -sounds like you have started off great!!!!

Timeshares unlike hotels come up pots, pans, plates and most important (to me anyway) dishwasher.....plus clothes washers.

www.skyauction.com

don't do hotels on skyauction these are not always bargin - sometimes their own website is cheaper.

for the hotels you mention they are all on
www.choicehotels.com

also check prices with
www.hotelkingdom.com
www.hotelmartusa.com

you have ben a huge help, we have now decided to booka hotel elsewere, and never took in the factor that US is further away and how long it would take.... i am going to check out the sites you sent me, I am going all out now.. LOL ... I want a nice place that we will enjoy our vacation.... Thank you so much!

We're staying at Comfort Inn at Lake Buena Vista. They are reasonably priced and near all the parks. Check out their website. They also got good reviews on tripadvisor.
