Which hotel would you recommend?

I am currently booked at the Best Western across the street. I could book at the Hilton Garden Inn with Universal and get early park admission.

Has anyone stayed at either of these?

There are a few Best Western hotels in the uo partners hotel programs which allow early entry

Did you book the package with uo?
That is how you will get the ee perk by booking thru uo

Came back to say I just read in another forum you already booked your hotel room at Best Western

As you need to book thru UO partner hotels to get the perk

All of the on site hotels are excellent (from the value Cabana Bay all the way to the deluxe hotels) if you're willing to pay the premium. Like macraven said, you have to book through Universal if you want to get the early entry at BW or Hilton. I've stayed at that Hilton before and it's pretty good -- it's a short drive/uber ride and is definitely walkable, but it's quite a hike (over a mile, part of which is on a bridge going over I-4).

For us, the perfect mix of staying super close (meaning easy walking distance, i.e. 0.5-0.75 mile walk) and affordable is the Holiday Inn Across from Universal and the DoubleTree Suites, both off of Major Boulevard. You can usually get one of them as an express deal on Priceline for very cheap (DT Suites is almost always available as an express deal). We've booked the Holiday Inn in the past through Universal and received early entry, but that's not always available as a UO partner.

do i have to pay in full at the time of booking or just a deposit?

Not sure how much you pay down when you book

At one time it was $200 deposit for a package

Last time I read it was 30 days out to pay the remainder
