I am truly sorry to be such a bother but I am REALLY struggling with hotel choices. I NEED your help please:worship:

Ok. DH and I are 50 (well I will be in March). This is our first DL trip in over ten years. We are celebrating my 50th b-day. We absolutely do not want to spend the $$$ for DLH or DGC but we would really love to have a nice place to stay within walking distance of the park. I've narrowed it down to these three and hopefully they are all good choices. Please give me your opinions to my choices keeping in mind our age and it will be only the two of us going. We don't care about the pool as we wont be swimming but a clean room, nice staff, $$$, and close proximity to the park are essentual to us.

My choices are .......

Candy Cane Inn (due to great reviews)
Carousel Inn
Park Vue Inn

If none of these are your choice, please tell me your choice and why.

Thank you for being so patient with me. I just drive myself crazy when it comes to choosing a good hotel for the $$$ and especially since it will probably be our last trip ever to DL.

CANDY CANE hands down. Perfect for a couple, as the rooms are a bit on the small side, but they have lovely beds and linens and a great breakfast. And you really can't beat the dedicated shuttle when your feet are sore at the end of a long day.

I did NOT appreciate the night I spent at the Carousel. The shower leaked everywhere (I had the shower curtain closed, but the fabric of the curtain let the water seep through somehow), then the steam from the shower set off the fire alarm. At midnight. The staff didn't come to check on me, I had to call them to try to get the thing turned off (I'm short and couldn't reach it), and then in the morning when I talked to them about it, they said "oh yeah, we were wondering what was going on"....and this was the night after the hotel fire in Las Vegas, but they couldn't be bothered to call up or come on up to check it out. Didn't make me feel safe!

editing to add...the shower didnt just leak into the bathroom. It actually went under the bathroom door (can't possibly take a shower late at night with the bathroom door open, you know) and went up to the metal plate dividing the tiled vanity area and the sleeping area's carpet. I had to use every single towel to mop it up (which is why I was vaguely glad they didn't come up and check on me, even while I wished they would care enough about safety to do so...better to feel safe and throw on clothes without being dry, than feel so unsafe!), it had leaked SO much water.
