One of the little girls we're travelling with is a "princess" princess: and "needs" to sleep in a castle during our upcoming visit in May...which do you recommend?

Camelot gets better reviews, is slightly closer to the park and has views of the fireworks from outside your hotel room door on the upper levels... Expect to pay a little more though...

I've never stayed at Camelot, but I have stayed at the Castle Inn. It's not great and it's farther. I remember the rooms being pretty dingy.

I agree with the above pros for the Camelot and it will cost more.

I would not recommend the Castle Inn based on many aweful reviews. Although it's possible things have changed, I just saw a few days ago a Disser report on thier stay there, and it sounds like things have changed for the better.

Absolutely NOT the castle inn, we stayed there with 4 kids and it was horrible!!! The room was dingy and the bathroom was dirty (nasty things in the tub.....), we had 4 towels for 6 people, and when we asked for more we didn't get them!!! There were NO towels at the pool and altho we asked twice we didn't get any. The front desk staff was less than helpful and one of them yelled at my DD when she called to see if they had Wifi for hotel guests....we will never ever stay there again.

I have stayed at Camelot and while it was perfectly adequate (not great, but not bad), the only "castle" element is really the front facade, and even then it doesn't look like a traditional castle. The rooms and rest of the hotel have nothing to do with castles. If your daughter is young enough, however, that might not matter, and you can just talk it up when walking through the facade. I've read bad things about Castle Inn, though, so I wouldn't recommend that one.

How about the Sheraton Anaheim?
It's not in walking distance, but they do have a dedicated shuttle.

We got home last weekend from 3 nights at the Castle Inn- we quite liked it! There were 6! large towels, 6 hand towels and 6 face clothes! The beds were great and I did a VERY thorough inspection regarding the cleanliness and was very happy- I even "tested" the house cleaning and crumbs were vacuumed, garbage was emptied, money left out was left and wasn't touched- that sort of thing...I am quite picky and was really happy with the castle- it is basic, don't get my wrong- bring your own conditioner sort of thing, however for the cost I thought it was huge value.
