This is the first time we have drove to WDW. We are driving from the sub of St Louis and I think we will stop on the south side of Atlanta for the night. I have been tring to find a hotel for the night but am not seeing any great deals. Is there somewhere I can look for specials and or codes? Also is there a place that will show hotels located along I-75? If I type in Atlanta I get too many choices and I am having a hard time telling where they are. Any help will be appreciated!:)

We will also be leaving from St. Louis, but I plan to make it to try to make it to Macon GA. It's just a little farther down the road, like an hour or less, and it's not "in" Atlanta. That way I won't have to deal with city traffic when we get up to leave.

Oh, and if you do an orbitz search you can click on more information, maps, and photos. I did that for a couple and could always tell if it was right off the interstate or not.

Have you tried Travelocity.com? I've used that numerous times and always have pretty good luck. I think it gives you the different areas of the city to choose from.

There's a website - www.roomsaver.com - that I think is affiliated with those coupon books you find at welcome stations and the like. You can put in state and city and then actually print coupons. Prices look pretty good and there are maps, so you should be able to figure out what is near the interstate.

Thank-you all for the responses. I will work on trying these web sites today! I am afraid we will not make it to Macon. We are travelling with a 2 year old and my Grandfather who is 80, both need to stop pretty often. :D Thanks again!

Hi - Hope this helps. We are also driving down and staying in Tallahassee. I went to www.flausa.com to search for available hotels in the area we wanted to stay. I got a really good rate at only 57.50 per night.

Disneycrazymom thought you flew most the time I was going to check with you about flioghts oput of stl prices deals ect.

we also like macon if we drive but traffic has got so bad around atlanta that, we go to mongomery on hwy 65 now and stay at the embassy suites real nice ,, 99.00 per nite,

free breakfast, free mangers eve drinks for 2 hours great history down town not far from hwy. great bbq places within walking distance,, a little farther than you want to go Birmingham , al. has a nice one abouit 129.00 a nite

we use to stay at memphis at the comfort inn on the river great veiw,, very nice and reasonable when the kids were younger then drive to mongomery or macon,,
good luck cmatt

to bad about those cards they saved me a thousand dollars on tix I guess when I get my refund back

Well, since you don't think Macon is viable, my suggestion won't be either but we stayed in Byron GA and I believe Perry. Two towns quite close together and I believe both of them had a ton of motels. We stayed at Super 8 at byron a couple of years ago and I think this year was Perry at the Fairfield Inn.

We've driven down numerous times from New Jersey to Orlando. We never book a hotel in advance. Various factors - weather, traffic, length of breaks, etc. - can significantly alter where we will be when we decide its time to stop for the nite. Virtually every exit on the highway has 2 or 3 decent motels and rooms are always available (unless it is a holiday).

I don't know if its true on your route, but along I-95, there are welcome centers when you enter the state. Either there or at many gas stations, they have booklets with ads/coupons from various hotels. Stop and pick up one of those for the state you will be stopping in. Then you can plan from there.

I thought about not getting ressies ahead but was a bit worried about not finding something. cmatt, we do usually fly but both wanted a budget trip and Grandpa wants to stop at his brother's on the way home. There are good fares out of STL right now about 190.50, I just checked tonight because my DH and son will fly so they don't miss too much work and school. It is too bad about the Cards. At least the Rams seem to be arriving at their own games again. And hockey has started so the Blues get most of the attention around my house now! Thanks everyone!

We stayed at a hotel on the other side of Atlanta (Kennesaw) as we were on our way home. It was a SpringHill Suites by Marriott. We found it to be very clean and very good for our needs. We have 4 children and the room had 2 dbl beds and a pullout sofa. It had a micro & refrig and a brkft bar in the morning (not too much, but enough to get us going).

Not sure if this helps you as you will be on the wrong side of Atlanta. However check their other locations.

As far as discounts, we saved 50% with the entertainment club card. The room was about $49.00.
