Hi,
Have just booked WDW for next August, and intend booking Gatwick Hilton again for night before our flight (for the sheer convenience).
This year, though, it will be just me doing the driving home, so would like to go to a hotel for some sleep before attempting the 5 hour drive back to Wales.

Can anyone recommend a hotel that would have rooms available from about 7am, for during the day? Also, have you any idea of how much it would cost?

Thanks,
Sara. :)

We flew with Virgin many years ago from Gatwick before they started flying from Manchester.
We stayed at the 'Effingham Park London Gatwick' hotel, part of the Copthorne chain (sorry for some reason it will not let me put the link in).
If you search on 'Effingham Park' you will find it.

You will probably find better advice from someone who has done this more recently Sara perhaps.

I think most hotels will offer this facility, but I've found it takes a bit of persistence to book one.

I can't remember the name of the last Gatwick hotel we used for a day room (the last couple of times we've used a guest House). I do remember that I booked the room for the night plus parking through Holiday Extras but had to contact the hotel itself for the day room - even then they wouldn't send me any confirmation, just told me to arrange it when we checked in for the overnight stay at the beginning of the parking period.

I think we had the room for something like 8am to 4pm and paid about £60.

If you haven't yet booked your overnight hotel, and plan to drive up (not sure if you do), I'd really recommend having the overnight and day room in the same place so your car will already be there. :)

It all worked out fine, but I would have preferred something confirmed before we left!

As far as I am aware, the Hilton allows you to book a room for the day. I am sure that they display the rate at reception.

If you are booking for before your holiday, try to see what they can offer for when you come back. This would be the most convenient, you could be in bed at the Hilton before you had even arrived at an offsite hotel!!
