Hotel for Late Flight Arrival?

Hey,

My friend and I are heading to WDW next month. In order to save on flights and give us more time to visit the parks, we opted to fly in the night before our WDW stay. The flight arrives at 9PM or so. Our current plan is to stay near the airport for the night, then uber to WDW (All-Star Music) the next morning. I thought about back-tracking to the airport and using the Magic Express bus, but figured the Uber would save time and give us more time at the parks.

Can anyone recommend a good airport hotel (preferably with free breakfast) for this? Is the uber to WDW a better/faster choice than Magical Express?

I looked at the MCO Hyatt, but it's a little pricey and doesn't offer free breakfast.

Thanks

I have no clue how much Uber costs, but you may want to consider doing a one-way car rental. I picked a few random days in May and priced out Alamo. Picking up at the airport and returning to the Car Care Center (free shuttle to your Disney Resort or theme park) costs about $56-64 including taxes and fees.

Having a car means you're not stuck only the airport area hotels. You can also make a pit-stop to get supplies so you're not paying Disney prices for every meal or snack.

Just a thought.

We did this back in December. We were at the Ramada Inn through PL. Although not my first choice of places to stay, it was good for a night's sleep and out early in the morning. We took Uber from there to OKW. If I remember correctly, it was about $35 then another $8 we through in for a tip.We left there about 5:45AM and we were checking in at about 6:15AM.

I stayed at Springhill Suites Orlando airport and they had a good breakfast. Free airport shuttle as well.

You are much better off finding a hotel very close to MCO. Have their van pick you up when you arrive, go sleep, eat breakfast and then have their van drive you back to MCO and take the Magical Express. There are a lot of hotels close to MCO. We usually stay at a Fairfield inn, springhill suites, residence inn. Check the AAA rate if you have AAA. An uber will not be that cheap because WDW is around 30 minutes from MCO. We are planning this method when we leave/arrive at MCO. Use the hotels shuttle it is for free and so is DME.

we stayed at Hampton inn recently with a late nite arrival. Free shuttle service and standard breakfast items in the morning. We used our AAA for better rate than rack rate.

We used their shuttle service to go back to airport next morning and used DME to our hotel. We checked in, stored luggage with bell services, and off to park. Received text mid-afternoon that our room was ready.

The Embassy Suites by the airport is a good choice that meets your criteria including the free breakfast... As far as transportation, you can still use DME the next morning from the airport to your WDW resort, no need to Uber unless you want to save time by avoiding the second trip to the airport for DME..

Tho more costly... did u try any/all possible discounts ( Aaa etc) for Hyatt
It’s so very simple to get off a plane and stay overnite ( grab McDonald’s for $3. In the airport) and hope on ME
No planning rides/shuttles/traveling to/from and ME is included whenever you Arrive at mco.
We love it for easy access
And did u know if ur ever in a situation of arriving at MCO super early or late ( say after a cruise and ur flight is at s later time)
They rent rooms for a few hours ( and u still get amenities: pool etc, myriad of food choices within airport tho their pub is yummy)
Enjoy ur visit wherever ur pit stop is!

We had a pre-cruise airport stay at the Doubletree that is just north of MCO. I do NOT recommend this hotel. However, I wanted to share that we ubered to Epcot that evening. Cost us ~$30 one way. It was the first time we had ever used Uber, and I couldn't believe the savings compared to the $75 one way that we were quoted for a taxi (as well as the prices I'm seeing for a Minnie-van airport trip) We are planning to Uber from MCO this coming trip after that pleasant experience last year. We have always done the ME every Disney resort stay, but the time savings for us is worth around $30. Plus, with Uber you don't have to stop at three other hotels before yours. WDW is about a half hour from MCO. If you Uber, you have about a 5 minute wait at MCO/MCO area hotel for the Uber to pick you up, and then you're at WDW in about 30 minutes. Total 35 minutes. Everytime we've taken ME, we've sat on the bus at least 15 minutes if not 30, then every single time we've been the last or second to last hotel drop off. The last time it took 1 hour, 40 minutes from checking in at the ME desk at MCO until drop off at CR.

However, as A1tinkfans mentioned, the Hyatt MCO would be the simplest given your circumstances. And, if I were in your shoes, I would eagerly apply the Uber $$ toward the extra cost and convenience of the Hyatt MCO and then take ME the next day.

Conclusion though is that the Hyatt MCO is substantially more money (usually) than paying for one of the other airport hotels (that may include breakfast) and paying for an Uber.
