Hotel for College Spring Break near Universal?

My cousin is coming down with friends and they're looking for some night life so I suggested near Universal. Is there a hotel you would recommend for girls on spring break? They're not looking to break the bank, but would like it to be safe and easy to get to Universal at night.

There are the three on-site Loews hotels right at Universal (Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Portofino Bay). All three are in walking distance to City Walk.

There's a Doubletree right across the street from US/IOA that gets good reviews. We stayed at the Sheraton Studio City which is about half a mile away.
