I am looking at possibly taking my family to Disneyland in October 2008. We are a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 children. The childrens ages will be 10 months, 8, 10, 16. Which hotel would you recommend? We would like to get 1 room if possible.

The moderate hotels that are listed on the Disneyland site that take 6 guests in one room are:

* Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites (1 Bedroom Suite)
* Best Western Park Place Inn (Mini Suite)
* Best Western Raffles Inn & Suites (Queen Suite, Kids Suite, or Family Suite)
* Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort (Mini Suite)
* Hampton Inn & Suites (Suite)
* Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (Suite)

I know nothing about any of these hotels. Last time we went to Disneyland we stayed at the Holiday Inn Anaheim Resort Area and loved it, unfortunately they do not have rooms that can take 6 guests. Can anyone give me any advice on these hotels?

Thanks!

The only one on your list I have stayed at is the Best Western Park Place Inn, but we had a regular room, not a suite. The hotel is a good one and a favorite of Disers, but mainly because it is across the street from the entrance to DL.

One recommendation I would look into that is not on your list is the Marriott Residence Inn Maingate. They have 1 and 2 room suites and can comfortably sleep 6. The provide a hot free breakfast, have full kitchens, the pool is open 24 hours, and it is within walking distance (3-4 blocks) from DL. Tripadvisor.com has reviews on all of the hotels you have listed if you want more info.

Our jr. suite at the Best Western Park Place Inn was very nice and spacious. It was in mint condition, very clean and had a nice bathroom set up. However, I didn't like the pool area much, it was tiny. But overall, it was a good experience.

I have also stayed at the Camelot, but in a regular room. It had a nicer pool area but the room was not in as good condition as our BWPPI one. However, they have had a refurb so that may be quite a bit better. It was very clean, just a bit worn and dark.

My favorite offsite places I have stayed thus far is the Tropicana. Next door to the Best Western, much nicer pool area and lighter and brighter than the Camelot was. I do beleive they have suites, you might check them out.

I do recommend the Best Western from your list that I have stayed at. And you cannot beat that location! Good luck with your planning!

We did the Camelot Inn in 05,but had a 2 room suite. (5 adults,1 munchkin). Probably use them again next year.:thumbsup2

I highly recommend the Desert Inn and Suites directly across the street. We have even gotten a two room family suite for between $89-$99 before, and it works great with 4 queen beds and 1 and a half baths!!!

I haven't stayed here, but the Doubletree Guest Suites Anaheim Resort/Convention Center looks identical to the Hilton Anaheim Orange that we have stayed at. In a 2 Queen Suite you could easily fit 6 people.

This is the order of preference in my opinion:

These are within walking distance & offer continental breakfast, which are plusses - you wouldn't have to get your family on a shuttle & could just walk to the parks:
* Anaheim Camelot Inn & Suites (1 Bedroom Suite)
* Best Western Park Place Inn (Mini Suite) - deluxe continental brkfst
* Carousel Inn & Suites

A bit farther, but I like how they are set up, and they have hot breakfasts. You can walk to the parks, but after a long day I'd bet your kids would want to take the shuttle.
* Residence Inn Maingate

I really like the rooms here, but in my opinion pretty far to walk - you'd need to take the shuttle w/the little ones
* Best Western Raffles Inn & Suites (Queen Suite, Kids Suite, or Family Suite)

* Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort (Mini Suite)
* Hampton Inn & Suites (Suite)
* Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites (Suite)

The 6 of us have stayed at the RI Maingate numerous times and love it. Lots of space. Send me a PM if you have questions.

We went in 04 and there were 8 of us. 4 adults, 1 year old, 4 year old, 5 year old and 6 year old. We stayed in a mini suite at the Desert Palms Hotel on Katela. About 2 blocks from disney. The price was resonable and directly behind DCA. We walked everyday. The mini suite consisted of one large space with 2 queen beds and a smaller ajoining space with a sofa sleeper and desk. Very comfortable and clean.

Good luck on your choice.

We stayed at BWPPI last Dec in one of the mini suites. We had 3 adults, 1 teenager and 2 children and we had plenty of room.

The location can't be beat (5 minutes from room to park entrance) unless you pay the outragious prices for the Grand Californian, and the free breakfast (Cereal, donutes, pastries, toast, hard boiled eggs, milk, coffee, etc) was nice.

Nothing fancy but the place is clean and well maintained. The staff was very pleasant and was able to answer any questions we had about the area. The pool was small but clean and the kids enjoyed cooling off during the afternoon breaks (It was so weird having to cool off during Dec :lmao: ).
