Hotel for 5 people????

We are planning a trip to Dl for Dec. and was wondering what hotels near DL are good for a family of 5???? We were thinking of staying at the DL resort but was wondering what other options would be good nearby for a family of 5. Any reponses would be greatly appreciated!

We were there over New Years and stayed at the Fairfield Inn across the street. The hotel was clean and employees friendly. They have two double beds and a loveseat size sofa bed. We only paid $65.00 a night and thought it was nice for the amount.

Bob, you will probably want to check out the Desert Inn and Suites, Carousel Inn, Best Western Park Place Inn, and Annabella - they have family suites at very reasonable rates, and are within easy walking distance. And they usually get good reviews. There are others as well, but those get mentioned most often.

I checked out the Anabella in December and it is a very nice looking, large place with exterior corridors and a restaurant on site. A freind just returned from there and loved it. Check out the Portofino Inn and Suites as well.

I'll have to agree with the suggestions teri made. We actually had 3 adults and 4 kids stay in one of the suites at the BW Park Place Inn, for just a tad over $100 a night, and it wasn't too cramped at all.

But, if you want "Disney", you can sleep 5 in most of the rooms at the DL Hotel, provided one of the 5 is small enough to fit on the "day bed" type thing that they have in there. We did it with 2 adults and 3 kids a few years back, and had more than enough room for everyone to stretch out.

We were thinking of going to DL hotel but without EE anymore we have been considering staying offsite to save money(also to show displeasue with disney over their constant cutbacks as money is the only anser they truely understand).

Bob, just FYI, DisneyLAND did not stop early entry. They just offer it EVERY day now, without the "no Wednesday and Sunday" restriction. Early entry at Disneyland was NEVER just a perk for onsite resort guests; it was open to those in "Good Neighbor" Hotels and with all sorts of different multi-day passes as well.

Staying offsite is a great choice too, but I didn't want you think that you were making a great political statement by doing so. Not the same at Disneyland as it is at WDW.

Its not a political statement, but even though i love going to disney and im looking forward to seein disneyland for the first time i also feel they shouldnt be rewarded for shortsighted business decisons they make. They will still get some of my money. but less if i stay off-site.

Hi, I just thought that I'd throw my .02cents worth in - Have you thought of staying 2miles away in Orange? Residence Inn (Orange) has suite accommodation with plenty of living and sleeping room (We are also a family of 5 - 2 Adults and 3 kids, 12, 9, &5) not only do they supply these large rooms - which include full kitchen & also 2 bathrooms. But you also receive a full deluxe Breakfast each day AS WELL as a family style buffet dinner each night. Can't really beat that. We've booked a penthouse suite, which has an upstairs loft bed/bath & downstairs living, extra sleeping,bath & kitchen and we have got it for $99USD plus tax (I believe their normal rate is $189 plus tax & the are offering $119 at the moment)

Wow! What a great deal you got! We've firmed up our dates of travel, but have yet to make a choice of accomodations....the Residence Inn sure sounds like it's worth investigating! Thanks for the suggestion!

Just thought I'd repost Michelle's comments. This is something I did not realize.

So Bob, what Michelle is saying is that if you stay off-site you will actually be telling Disney that you are displeased they removed the Wednesday and Sunday restriction.

Honestly, it sounds like if you want to make a statement, staying on-site at DL would make sense, and then stay off-site next time you hit WDW. But that's just a suggestion...
