We are arriving on a Friday night and can't check into our timeshare until Saturday so we need a hotel for one night. Our plane is due in at 8:30 p.m. so we would like something close to the airport if not in it. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

We also have a ts and do the same thing. I like to use Hotwire for 1 nt. stays. With the advice from betterbidding.com, I was always able to identify which hotel I would be getting so no surprises. We have gotten the Hyatt inside MCO for $59/nt. and the Wingate Inn for $49.
Before I found Hotwire we stayed at the Fairfield Inn by Marriott. It was decent, clean and had a nice free breakfast too. (Wingate had free brk. too but it wasn't as good as Fairfield's.)

Lots of people get the Renaissance thru Hotwire and that's rated highly too. Be sure to check that your search is just for MCO, not "West of Airport" or you'll end up too far.

If you can afford the Hyatt outright, it's soooo ultra convenient for late arriving flights. Concierge will even fetch your bags from the baggage carousel if you like. :cloud9: They do give a decent AAA discount. We'll be staying there in Nov. prior to our Dis cruise. Not a great rate but every now & then it's worth it to splurge.
Good luck!

Thanks! How did you figure out which hotel it was? I don't like the idea of locking in a reservation and not knowing what hotel it is.

if you go to betterbidding.com they can usually identify most hotels. If it's a 4* hotel for only 1 nt. I really don't care which one it is since it will probably be a Hyatt or Hilton, etc. You won't get a Comfort Inn when you choose 4*.

Thanks! I'll try it! I found a Holiday Inn Express for $103 which sounded pretty good to me but I'll see what I can get cheaper. I've learned so much on these boards! I started with a rental car for 292, got it down to 196, then 176, and now 155 :cool1: I also ordered my MYW tickets through UCT's newsletter and saved money and I'm ordering my photopass CD ahead of time to save money. This board is awesome!

I like HIE's! They are just right for 1 nt. Just as a guide, they are 2.5* on Hotwire. I usually go for the higher stars on HW just b/c I really don't know what I'm getting for sure until I get it. Very often you can get higher star rooms for less than lower stars. It really varies.
Good luck, doesn't cost a dime to do a search and see what's offered.:goodvibes

Goffygirl,
How did you finagle your car rental? And what is UCT? I would love any help to lower costs. Also, how did you go about ordering your photopass CD ahead of time? We are a first time family from Alaska to WDW and would love any help you can offer. :worship: Thanks in advance.

I subscribed to the Mousesavers newsletter which comes by email once a month (I think). It has links to discount prices for different things. I ordered my park tickets through the discount link in the newsletter. I also looked up discount codes through there but ended up booking my car the cheapest through an email from Alamo. I guess I got on their email list when I booked it the first time. I clicked on Hot Deals and got a really good price.

You should look at the Budget Board and the Transportation Board. There are people who are way better at saving money on their trips than I am. I just followed their advice.

Hope you have a great time!

P.S. You can go to Mousesavers.com to sign up for the newsletter.
