We have two kids, ages 6 and 4. We are arriving on the evening of December 22nd (Saturday) and staying at the HRH through the morning of the 25th (Tuesday). We have bought the AAA 2 day ticket, 3rd day free. Three questions:
1. We're booked at the HRH for $117 for one night and $149 for two nights. If we could get rooms at the Portofino for $160, is it worth the extra $ or should we just stay put?
2. If we end up having a few hours (say 6pm-closing at 8pm) at the parks on Saturday night, what would you recommend we do? Which park to go to? I have not heard of evening parades, fireworks, etc. at US. Are there any?
3. Which park would you recommend for which day? We were thinking USF for Sunday the 23rd if early entry days are going, and Monday the 24th for IOA. What do you think? If early entry is not on, what do you think?
Thanks for your help! This is our first trip to Universal and we're really looking forward to it.

Hi!

1: I've only stayed at the Portofino. I guess it depends on what you're looking for. It sounds like the HRH is a more lively place. The Portofino is beautiful and quiet but not stuffy. Great staff.

2: Sorry, we're always too pooped from traveling. We usually go somewhere for dinner then turn in!

3: You plans sound great. Sunday is supposed to be good even if it's not ee.

Please consider posting a trip report or just some remarks when you return from your trip. People often ask questions about going to the parks with young children.

Have a great time!
