Hotel Close to Vistana Villages

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows of a cheap but decent hotel near Vistana Villages, We are to check into Vistana on the 11th of Oct-25th, but arriving on the 10th so would need just one night somewhere, preferably close to Vistana. Thanks for any suggestions!

hi,

i know that the Holiday Inn Family Suites is just down the street and around the corner, under 10 minutes to get there.

In the opposite direction, if you head up the northern end of Int'l Drive, you'll have your choice of Best Western and the like. That is just a little bit longer due to all the traffic lights, but still very close as well.

Thanks so much for the reply, I've looked at the HIFS and it looks wonderful, but I really didn't want to spend that much just to sleep there, on the other hand, it is our 10th anniversary and the Sweetheart Suite looks fabulous! Maybe I can figure out a way to book it without DH knowing >eg< The lowest price I've found is $149 for the night.. not that the amount is that expensive, it's just that I'd like to save all I can for other things. Would you happen to know of a lower price somewhere or any specials going on?

I don't know of any specials offhand anywhere, but suggest that you visit www.mousesavers.com for terrific bargains. There you will find out about fantastic rates for various hotels - very reputable site that everyone knows of here on the DIS. Happy 10th anniversary and good luck in your search.

Hi Lori,

I've visited mousesavers.com many times, got some valuable info from that site, I did look at the info they had about HIFS and then called them directly.. the quote of $129 on Mousesavers for the time of year I'm going is only for the kids suites, otherwise for the Sweetheart Suites he quoted me a price of $199 a night, I then told him that on the HIFS website they are quoting a price of $144 a night for that same suite, (not the $149 that I had originally stated) and he said that I could get that price because it's a special rate online.. so, not sure what I'm going to do yet.. but I am leaning towards it. Also, I asked if they still accepted losing Florida Lottery Tickets to get a rate of $109 per night, but that only applies to a Family Values Package and again, it only applies to the kids suites. I guess I have some time to think about it, with the free breakfast buffet, nightly entertainment and romantic suite, doesn't sound to bad after a plane ride and all the planning that has gone into this.. I just want to get there and relax! lol

Sounds like you'll be flying in? Have you thought about staying by the airport the first night? There are some nice hotels there, with much lower rates, and that way you can relax sooner! We stayed at the Airport Marriott, which I got for $40 on Priceline, and it was very nice--even the pool was nice (much better than what you'd think an airport hotel pool would look like). Nice restaurants and beautiful lobby. I think I saw the special internet rate is $69 if you don't want to do Priceline. I've heard the Sheraton Suites and Hyatt at the airport are nice as well.

Thanks so much for the suggestion, I never really thought about it, I am going to look into the hotels you mentioned, you're right about relaxing sooner.. good idea! I've never bid on priceline before, but I know how it works.. not much of a risk ranger when it comes to things like that, but hey.. there's a first time for everything right? lol Besides.. it's only one night (can you tell I'm trying to convince myself?) Anyway, I'm going to check out those hotels now.. thanks again!
