im surprised to see no one talking about the removal of the passholder hotel availibility cander. i live in socal and usually plan my visits on the dates with discounted pricing. i just cannot seeing myself calling in for multiple dates, and with the way the prices change constantly i would have to call multiple times. i called in to double check and was told management had decided all requests for ap discounts would have to be made over the phone.

What?!?! If I was planning a trip for anytime soon, I definitely would have noticed because I check it every time I want to book at one of the onsite hotels. That's REALLY frustrating now, having to deal with the discount over the phone. I've never had luck with using the phone for placing reservations at DLR as they have always been lost in the system or were never made in the first place :headache: The calendar was so easy for me, and now they've just made my vacation planning a little harder. Thank you Disney :thumbsup2 I still love you though, I swear

I'm irritated with this as well. We live in San Diego and make weekend trips to DLR pretty regularly and usually schedule them based on the hotel pricing. Its a hassel to have to call and ask about a bunch of different dates.

I agree. I always referred to it before I planned to go. Now I'll probably look at Hojo instead since I can see my discount there online.

This happened about a month ago also (maybe a little longer). It was off for a week or two, but then it was back on at least as recently as two weeks ago because I used it to search for my trip on May 7th. I think they might take it down while they're working on big changes or something, so don't be sure this is a permanent removal.

i hope it isnt permanent. but when i called in and did the website chat they said it was. i should have titled the topic differently so more ap people will read and hopefully call or write in.

If you click on the passholder rates link on the regular special offers page, it says the calendar is being updated & is temporarily unavailable, but to check back later. So it probably isn't gone forever... at least I hope not.

It's been like that for what 2 or 3 weeks now?

All in all it doesn't matter much. Why not? Just look at the regular price and knock off 10% if you just need an idea of AP pricing. But as always if you want a real AP deal, you just need to call reservations and ask for the AP rate. Calling almost always got you a better rate than the calendar showed.

As stated it is not gone for good (at least not yet). You can get to where it is supposed to be by clicking on discounts... then Hotels... then check availability.. It shows a square where the calender should be and then says it is being updated....

I've been checking it constantly in hopes of better rates for my upcoming trip (I know not very likely but wishful thinking!)

I've been trying for over a week to get the system to accept my AP # so that I can login. I sent an e-mail and they have not responded.

Yea it's really annoying! I had to call for a quote, no hood time. Once I got a cm on the phone, she asked what room I wanted...15 minutes later, after verifying about 10 pieces of personal info she told me no rooms were available. Really?!? I asked a couple of times during the process for the quote and she refused to provide it without verifying ALL my info

Ridiculous! I was very irritated.

awe, you poor poor babies that live in California and have the ability to go to disney whenever complaining about hotel availability! ;) :)

That is exactly what I do also. It is really a pain. I look for the cheapest rates and book accordingly. I do not look at dates first. So calling the hotel is useless. I figure it is our perk for having to live in California with all the earthquakes. Not buying it huh?

Sorry, but I live in California--and just like many other people I have to pay 329.00 to get a deluxe passport AP. This isn't a small consideration for our family, and it is not easy to live in Califoronia where EVERYTHING is more expensive than it is in Oklahoma. But this is where we live, and one benefit (of the many expensive minuses) is that if we live in California we can drive there some day (when we get time off work!). You can buy the same AP as me--the Deluxe. It is the one that is available not only to me, but to you.

FYI: it's back up!!

And look at all those days black out in June. I hope that doesn't mean the parks are going to be crazy dues to the new rides opening. But it kind of looks like that.

The dates that are blocked out now are not any more than what have been showing since it last came back up. Primarily at PPH it is the dates that are not block out dates for So-Cal AP's that are showing as sold out. I've already been counting on it being busy while I am there and why I was leary of a summer trip but I can't help when my birthday is! :lmao:
