hotel at port in Tampa?

Hi. I know this is not a Disney Cruise question, but you guys are so great with information I thought I would try!

We are planning a cruise out of Tampa over Thanksgiving - just couldn't pay those high Disney rates for that week. Does anyone know of a hotel close to port in Tampa?

We have stayed at the Raddison in Port Canaveral twice and loved it. The no hassel transportation to the dock and being able to park your car for free made it a real bargin. I was hoping Tampa may have something similar.

Thanks for any information and enjoy your Disney cruise. We have been on the Magic twice and it is just great! I am anxious to see how other lines stack up to the Magic!

Don't have the answer to your question, but you may want to check Cruisecritic.com......they have boards also and I've been able to find other cruiseline answers there.

There are several hotels downtown Tampa near the port. They are expensive. If you let me know how far and the price tag you are willing to pay, I'll help you find a place.

Thanks for your reply! I checked the Cruisecritic site and found a few hotel names in the area. I'll check their web pages or give them a call. Seems like some do offer transportation to the port.

Thanks for the offer to assist in my search. Since I have some starting information I just prefer to do it myself. Call me a control freak!!
