Hotel Advice Please!!

I currently have 2 reservations for my pre-cruise trip to WDW on 8/23-8/26.... Im not sure which one is the better to go with.. any advice from people who have stayed in either one recently is greatly appreciated.

Res # 1.
Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista $53.10 a night with AAA discount
Includes continental breakfast and 2 queen beds
Hotel has shuttles to parks

Res # 2
Doubletree Guest Suites $79.00 MSAV rate
Includes continental breakfast and 1 king bed suite
Hotel has shuttles to parks


Basically wants some opinions if the 26 extra a night is worth it for the suite at Doubletree. I have heard some conflicting reports of people saying the rooms were worn and in need of refurbishment.... I will be traveling with DH and DS (6) and DD (9).

I would call both hotels and ask about the shuttles. Find out if they use a dedicated shuttle or one of the local companies that goes to multiple hotels. Also check the shuttle schedules. If one hotel has more frequent shuttle service, I'd pick that one.
