Hi everyone. I am going to France for 3 weeks from 1 July :yay:. Ive booked dream AP's for my family of four (2 sons aged 6 and 5) :dance3:. We are staying at the Explorer hotel :goodvibes on 1/7 and 2/7 and plan on spending the 2/7 (a Saturday) at DLP :woohoo:. On the Sunday we are leaving and heading south for a couple of weeks.

On the way back home we're planning to stop at DLP for a few days. I am aiming to stay between Monday 18/7 and 22/7 but these dates are flexible. My thoughts are to book either the Dream Castle or the Magic Circus? :confused3 Im open to other suggestions......

I have priced up booking the DCH and MCH just now but didn't want tied with dates in case we wanted to head to DLP before the 18/7. The best prices are fixed and non-refundable.

Will there be availablity at these hotels last minute and will it cost more if I don't pre-book in advance?

Any advice would be appreciated! :)

A few years ago we had been camping (with Eurocamp) in the Loire Valley then headed to DLP for a day on our way to a campsite the other side of Paris for a few nights. We had then planned to return to DLP and had rooms booked at the Magic Circus (or Holiday Inn as it was then).

Of course when we got to DLP for the day we didnt want to leave especially to go to a tent so decided to try and get accomodation for those few nights at DLP. We went to City Hall and they checked all onsite hotels and there was nothing at all. They then checked the 4 associate ones and I dont think there was anything at Explorers but we did get a room at Magic Circus. It took a while though and at one point we didnt think we were going to get anything. This was end July/early Aug.

I cant remember definitely but I dont think we paid much more than we had for the other nights we were booked there however as you say the best rates are for the non refundable bookings so I imagine this price will be the cheapest you get

Thanks for that. We actually usually use Eurocamp / keycap for our holidays but this year I'm staying in a property belonging to family so I'm not tied at all. Ive not been before and don't know what it'll be like - hence the reason I didn't want tied with dates! It's 5 and a bit hours south of DLP so not easy to pop in.

I think I should maybe just book something and stick with the plan - cheaper and guaranteed to get what we want but making it much less free spirited! Cheers for the info.
