Hot Wire? Anyone ever....

Hi all!
Never used Hotwire for anything, but it seems that they are cheaper then getting online quotes with codes and coupons. Anyone ever use them for car rentals? How was your experience?

I have used Hotwire for a (Hertz) car rental, and was pleased with the price.

Less than Hertz direct or Entertainment card. Hertz counter person couldn't see what price we had paid and was a little huffy about that, but I had already paid in advance with a credit card, so there was no problem getting the card I had reserved.

Used hotwire for a hotel in Orlando, it was supposed to be a four star, but we got stuck in this horrid, mostrous timeshare place called Westgate Lakes. Didn't have connecting rooms as promised so we ended up cramming the kids in with us because we didn't feel comfortable having them down the hall. It was next door to some of the scariest projects I've ever seen, also. Never, ever again will I use Hotwire. I give my husband dirty looks now if he even suggests it and he goes 'okay, okay, we'll stay at the all stars!"

Can I ask if your experience with hotwire was 2006, or before that? Also, was your experience out of Hertz in MCO?
The price is right, but im still "iffy" about it. I only ever used Alamo out of MCO, and found all of our experiences great & this last time was the 1st time with our ds 23 months at the time. TIA
