That's a thought. I don't mean to seem ungrateful but it almost sounds "too easy" and I have to take it to a party. I guess I am asking for a recipe that looks like I put more "effort" into it.
My favorite way to use it is this:
Take mini phyllo cups. Put crunched-up ginger snap cookies in the bottom (just a little). then cover it with a slice of brie cheese, and then a little hot pepper jelly. Bake at 350 for about 8-10 minute. These are out-of-control good and disappear so fast at parties. I'm making them for Christmas Eve and I'm looking forward to them the most! They look so festive with the jewel-toned jelly and the pretty little bite-sized cups.
I know what you mean about wanting it to look like you made an effort, but if you have ever tasted pepper jelly over cream cheeese on a plain cracker (the cracker doesn't need any flavor becau there's enough form the cream cheese/pepper jelly) i is to die for!

I have cut the block of cream cheese in half, from one corner to the opposite corner, making 2 triangles. Place the 2 skinny ends of the triangle together at the top to make a Christmas tree shape. Then pour the jelly on and decorate with red and green pepper bits and or cilantro to look like a Christmas tree.
This appetizer will quickly disapear!
