Today I was admitted to the hospital for the first time. I got to ride in an ambulance for the first time. I got an IV for the first time.

Today, my body decided that it would be a good idea for me to pass out while taking my nutrition exam at 8 in the morning. I felt funny, told the teacher I didn't feel well, walked out of the room, couldn't control my legs, and fell down after walking into a wall. Then the TA came and took me to the bathroom, and I passed out. Then I got to take a trip to the hospital.

It was so scary. I've never passed out before.

Has anyone else passed out?
Gone to the hospital?
Ridden in an ambulance?

I passed out when I was younger. Then rode in an ambulance and was admitted into a hospital.

I remember sometime 2 years ago, I had the flu.
I got into a really hot,hot shower, and my mother was putting some towels away (it was a large, master bath with a covered shower).
My vision started getting fuzzy 2 or 3 minutes after I got it, and I collapsed out the shower.
My mother had to get me up herself.

I was only out for (about) 5 minutes, but it was the worst feeling I've ever had.
I felt similar to you, where I couldn't control my legs, but I actually blacked out while I was conscious, and just lost control of my entire body all in a few seconds.

No, not admitted but I've been in the ER before. It was for horrible girly problems, that have not resolved.

So how long will you be there? Did they find the cause?

i've been several times, but my most memorable resulted in 87 external stitches. it was so major that i have to list it as a "surgery" on my medical history.

i've also had several "real" surgeries. i had a cyst removed from my right wrist. that was easily the most miserable thing i have ever gone through, and more pain than anyone should ever go through. i don't remember a three or four day span. this left me in much more pain than the accident. i was in shock with the accident, and i don't remember any pain. this, however, was horrible.

when i was little i also had my tonsils and adenoids taken out. and tubes put in my ears.

i've also gone to the er for a hairline fracture. i was in a sling for a few weeks.

i've never had a major broken bone (just fingers/toes, and that hairline fracture.)

I've passed out before, didn't need to go to the hospital though.

It's a really long story, and I don't have enough time to tell it (:

Yeah I passed out about 3 times in an hour this June while I was at home alone :scared1: I was okay as I managed to get myself into bed but it was scary as the first time I woke up in the bathroom near the sink, and I could have hit my head on it

I wasn't there for too long. About 3 or 4 hours maybe.

And I've been sick for the past couple days with a sore throat. And all my roommates have the flu. SO I haven't been getting enough sleep and water. So I was just really dehydrated and I think the stress of the exam was part of it.

I've never passed out.

But i was admitted for a few hours when my blood pressure spiked last january.

And i was admitted for a week to place some rods in my spine.

glad ure okay.

A few years ago I blacked out and broke my nose. I wasn't out very long but I remember drifting in and out and not wanting to get up.

I've never stayed at the hospital but I have gone to it.

About last month I passed out for the first time.
I had strep throat, and hadn't been eating or drinking for 2 days.
Me and my mom were at the doctors office and at the counter and I was standing.
I started getting extremly hot and felt very sick (like i was goona puke) then I just passed out...

I've completly BLACKED out before. I fell from 12 feet high strait on my back. I had to go to the hospital. I was out for awile...

i have about 6 to 8 surgeries under my belt. i had a few surgeries done right after i was born. i spent 3 months in rehab after surgery on my back and spinal nerves when i was younger. i also spent a week in the hospital when i was 8 for surgery on my legs. i think my fear of hospitals comes from all the time i've spent there.

I hope you're feeling better.

I've never passed out before.
I've been to the hospital a few times. Once when I was born. Spent a week there. Another time when I sprained my ankle. Last time I went was last winter for an ultrasound. I needed to get something checked out.
I've, fourtunately, never ridden in an ambulance before.

When I passed out it was only for a few seconds. It was on a REALLLY hot day at a local ammusement park and I just felt so sick and lifeless and when we finally got back to the car I fell into my seat and apparently spilled water from my water bottle all over everything. I was passed out, so I didn't know. It only lasted like 10-15 seconds. Then I started hearing my family yelling at me but I couldn't feel my body or open my eyes... then I finally got caught up with reality.

I did have to go to the hospital when I broke my arm though.

I've never passed out, luckily.
I hope you're feeling better!
I went to the hospital when I broke my arm & sprained my ankle.

Funny story;
When I was in Orlando in the summer, my aunt AND my mum passed out within minutes of eachother. We were eating outside in Bahama Breeze, and we had the ambulence, lights and everything there. My mum had to be put on a strecher and got wheeled to the ambulence to get checked out. Tchyeah, we can't go anywhere without drawing attention to ourselves. ;)

Goodness elin! People do tend to stare at ambulances it seems like.

Never got to ride in a ambulance.

I did pass out once when I had chicken pox. It was really hot in the bathroom and my mom was putting anti-itch cream on my back while I was leaning against the shower. I remember shutting my eyes and the next thing I knew, I could feel a cold rag on my forehead and my parents staring at me like I had grown a second nose... :lmao: From what my mom told me, my legs buckled and my head ending up hitting the shower, wall, and toilet paper holder. Needless to say, I had a headache after that...

Been to the hospital emergency room three times, IV twice, got medicine through IV once; I don't know what they gave me, but I was a happy camper after that... :cool1:

I had to go to the ER Monday, actually...

Somebody dropped something down the sewer and I was trying to help open the sewer cap to get it back out and we almost had it open when it slipped and pulled my nail back. I needed... four stiches, i think, and it's fractured at the very tip. Coincidentally, when it happened, I almost passed out twice. I still was concious of everything I was doing, but I got tunnel vision, my head felt fuzzy and everything seemed different. My mom thought it was from pain and anxiety. (sp?) When I layed down, it went away withen seconds.

I've never been in an ambulance.

Hospitals are my second home. Between working there for clincials or admitted as a patient, I'm always at a hospital. It sucks, but that's my life and I can't change it. It's actually gotten bad enough to where I feel "totally in my element" at a hospital, instead of at school or something.

I've passed out before, I've had 6 surgeries (1 adenoid removal, 1 biopsy, 1 knee replacement, 3 port-a-cath surgeries [connecting a catheter into my superior vena cava]), major or minor all depends on your POV. I've broken my right femur, left collarbone, and right big toe and have sprained my left wrist, left thumb, and right ankle. I've got continuously low blood pressure which never raises unless I'm in pain or exercising. I'm just a mess medically, I've even made the record books 2 times and my cells have been and are taught off of. I have never, though, taken an ambulance!

I've a klutz and I've got bad luck, what can I say? :D

I have passed out before, but I was already in the hospital when it happened. My brother was there for getting shot in the eye with a nerf gun bullet. I remember everything getting blurry, don't remember going down, and then my dad helping me off the ground.
