Hi,

I'm doing some research on behalf of my mum. She loves the idea of the Southwest Splendors adventure but wants to know one thing. At any point is there the option to ride horses? She grew up on the old cowboy movies and has a dream to ride a horse "through the Grand Canyon" or "out on the praries". I know those options may be a little specific but can she go horse-riding in beautiful scenery at any point?

I've shown her the Wyoming/Yellowstone based adventure that specifically mentions horse riding but she prefers the overall itinerary of the Grand Canyon one.

Hi there!

I was on Southwest Splendors last year and recall you do have the option to take the mule ride into the Grand Canyon. This of course is on your own. In Moab there is free time in the afternoon and as well you can hire horses to ride to your hearts content. Incredible scenery! Enjoy!

Horseback riding is also offered at the last stop at Red Cliffs Lodge. There you can ride cliff trails, which are very cool.

The mule ride down the canyon is great, but the trail is narrow, has hikers on it, and it's a little bit scary. :scared:
