Hey guys, sorry if this has been asked before, I tried doing a search and it brings me to a white screen of nothing. Something like what I see when I look out my window here in Maine!

Anyhoo, I was wondering if anyone has done the horseback riding and if you could give me any info on it. Aprx. pricing, and maybe what they offer for times. Do they have short rides, or do you have to do the 2 hour tour? Any info would be appreciated. My daughter is a horse lover and was stuck in between being to big to do the ponies and not old enough for the horses last trip, and she will be old enough this trip. Thanks in advance for any tips!:thumbsup2

I'm curious to see the responses for this question also. I made reservations for my sister and I to go on April 12th when we're there, but I don't really know anything about it so it will be good to get more info.

I don't remember the exact price either - I booked so many things at the same time. I think it was between $35 and $40? And we're going at 10:00am.

They only offer one kind of ride. It's approx one hour including saddle up time. It is VERY slow and designed for first timers (which my family is not). The horses are practically head to tail the entire walk. You don't tour the campground or any of the loops, the trail is off in the woods. My girls had an "ok" time but have said they wouldn't want to do it there again. I think it would be a perfect ride for a young kid's first "real" horseback ride though.

I'm sorry I don't remember the price.:confused3

Our kids did it several years ago. They said they wouldn't do it again. It was boring in their words. I think it is also very expensive.

Hhmm, after reading all your responses I am hesitant to try it. I guess I will have to because I promised we would do it the last time. It broke my heart at the ponies when they wouldn't let her ride. That was the ONE thing she had been talking about REALLY wanting to do and then couldn't. And she held back her tears and was trying to be a good sport. I felt bad, so I promised her we would do the horseback riding the next trip. I hope she isn't disappointed. Oh well, its Disney, she can't be THAT disappointed. Thanks for all your help guys!:cheer2:

Aren't there other horseback riding opportunities in Kissimmee? I seem to remember something near the Super WalMart. It is offsite but these are probably better geared towards the experienced rider.

I say if she was disappointed that she couldn't ride the ponies, I think riding the horses will definitely put some pixie dust on her day. I'm an experienced rider but I thoroughly enjoyed the trek through the wilderness. Very slow paced but relaxing and enjoyable. DS(10) enjoyed it too although the hightlight of his ride was when his horse stops and had a long bladder relief...DS looked at the tour guide and said "when you gotta go, you gotta go!" :rotfl:

We did the horse ride few years ago.Yes it is slow, but you get to meet folk and see youngsters excitement of their first ride. Not only did we enjoy it but we also spotted deer, turkey and a assortment of other wild life . Nice an relaxing.....Don't wear good pants,,as they are horses and riding them has a tendency to dirty the inside of your pant legs .:thumbsup2 .....Being Goofy,,its not just for breakfast.pirate:

I went with my 2 oldest, 10 and 13 last year. We had a good time because we had never been riding before. My 10 year old joked that the ride cost about $1
a minute per person so we better have fun! :rotfl:

:lmao: That is perfect! That makes for a funny story.

Horse World in Poinciana is the other barn, but it's not by the Super Wal-Mart and it's a bit of a drive. They have rides geared for all levels tho' and you can find a discount coupon in the tourist coupon books.

Maybe that's the one I'm thinking of. I've looked for a coupon or guide book from our last trip but haven't found one. It's just one of those, "I know I saw this somewehere."
