I have looked for the FW thread (and maybe I am looking in the wrong place), but have been unable to find it. Has anyone done the horseback riding at FW? My DD9 will have some experience before our trip, but I would think as a special treat she would love to do this. Does anyone know how much it costs or how to set it up?

Thanks for any and all info-or even a connection to a thread with info.

From Deb's website:

Guided horseback rides are offered 6 times daily (8:30, 10, 11:30 a.m., 1, 2:30 and 4 p.m.) at the Tri-Circle D Livery at Fort Wilderness. The rides, which cost $42 per person, last approximately 45 minutes. Riders must be at least 9 years old and 48 inches tall and can weigh no more than 250 pounds. The horses are tame and walk pretty much single file during the ride. If you're an experienced rider, this ride may be too dull for you. If you've not had an opportunity to ride a horse before or have done so rarely, this ride may be just what you're looking for. To make reservations, call (407) 824-2832 -- reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. It is strongly suggested that you wear long pants and that you do not wear open-toed or heeled shoes. To get to the Tri-Circle D Livery, you can drive to and park in the Fort Wilderness Visitor parking lot and walk; take the Fort Wilderness boat from the marina at the Magic Kingdom to the Fort Wilderness marina and then walk to the Settlement Depot bus stop where you'd then board the bus to the Outpost Depot.

We did it last year for the first time, and my DD had a great time!!! It really is very nice, and the horses are VERY tame - its a slow walk. We all had a good time, and I booked it again for next week. I'm also taking my mom and my two nieces! They've never ridden a horse before, so I think it will be a lot of fun!

When I had booked it, they did mention wearing closed toe shoes, but hadn't said anything about long pants. We wore shorts and were fine. No problem at all.

Have a great trip!

Just so no one gets lost... there is no longer a bus from TTC to FW(or any resort I think)

I used to tak the bus from VWL..No longer running?

During the remodel of the MK bus stop the WL bus did go to TTC, but once the MK bus stop was done the bus went to MK instead of TTC. The parks are now used as transportation hubs for the resorts and the TTC is not the transfer point anymore.

That will teach me to post in the middle of the night...I didn't read all the information that I posted. So sorry, I know that the TTC no longer has buses that travels to Ft Wilderness only the bus to Wilderness Lodge after the Magic Kingdom closes.
