horror movies

Um. I'm really not into horror movies, but I really want to see The Silence of the Lambs.

lol. yeah, that was one scene that stuck with me.

i love the shining, and yeah, thats the right movie. the little twin girls were creepier than 'redrum,' to me. lol. and i love that scene where the little boy is riding his big wheel without music in the background, and all you can hear is the differences on how it sounds on the wood floor and when he goes on carpet. that is SUCH a creepy scene just because they didn't do any music on it.

Ah yes that was weird too! I can't even watch the verizon commercials (like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2QrlEYNfODI ) because it reminds me too much of the movie. There's another movie I can't think of the title, but it absolutely freaks me out. I think the only scary movies I like are Scary Movie 1, 2, 3, and 4. ;)

i really like that movie. i watched it a few days ago. its not really like bloody hack and slash scary, more of like, creepy stalker scary.

I still think the best movie that has Hannibal Lecter is Red Dragon. I don't think I've ever been more interested in a movie than when I watched it. If you're going to watch The Silence of the Lambs, then I'd suggest seeing Red Dragon first. The order they go in based on movies is:

Red Dragon
The Silence of the Lambs
Hannibal
Hannibal Rising

Then there's also Manhunter which is kind of like Red Dragon, but I didn't like it as much. One of the best movie series ever, bar none.

Mhm. I'd really like to see it because I know the guy who made one of the masks that was in the movie. And I just want to see what's going on.

did he make the mask hannible wears? the brown one? thats really cool!

I am too! I was screaming at parts in Prom Night..in broad daylight..in my living room.

Jurassic Park scares me for crying out loud! lol But that's a whole 'nother story.

But yeah, I can't handle scary movies. At all.

that is me TOTALLY.
I mean, I would sit down and watch them if I completely HAD to, I just wouldn't enjoy it AT ALL. I can't handle scary movies. I just don't like them at all. I'mma wimp ;D

I don't really like horror movies.
I'll watch them, but I get really scared.

When A Stranger Calls - I watched that at my birthday 2 years ago (i think) and clawed my best friend's shoulder in terror at the scary scenes. XD I'm such a wimp.

I watched The Strangers with my hands covering my eyes and just peeking out occasionally.

But like, Ghost Ship. I love that movie. I'm not sure if it really classifys as "horror" but, it has ghosts, so whatever. I can watch that one just fine.
I'm fine most of the time with movies about ghosts and stuff.
It's the movies about actual people that make me really scared.
I don't know why. xD

You all should try the really old horror movies - they were more psychological than gory.

I still can't sleep after watching The Shining (w/Jack) but that is the newest of the movies on my list. The original Little Shop of Horrors is a favorite too.

I absolutely love to watch the Vincent Price films at night in the dark. From House of Wax to the Tell Tale Heart performance - absolutely frightening.

Has anyone seen the Beast with Five Fingers? It was freaky!

I don't really like scary movies but I still watch them anyways...
The Shining has to be my favorite! Jack Nicholson nailed the role of Jack Torrence! He's my favorite actor!
And the new Amityville Horror movie was wayy too scary! I only watched like 15 minutes of it before I turned it off..and that haunted me for about a week!

i took an alfred hitchcock appreciation class one summer when i was in high school. it was offered via online through harvard. (all harvard online classes are free to the public but not for credit unless you pay) and i read the book cover to cover and watched almost (if not all) of his movies. it was an amazing class. i really loved it. he's my favorite classic movie maker.

I saw the newer house of wax while flipping channels, I started watching it and probably about 45 minutes into I turned it off because it was kind of dumb and the part with him getting slashed across the heel with scissors made my heel twitch. lol.

I guess I like Secret Window a lot but that's more of a thriller and the killing wasn't that bloody. I loved Sweeney Todd but I'm not sure if that is classified as musical horror? Lol. The blood looked fake so really it just made me laugh the whole time.

^^^If you take out all the singing and made the blood realistic it would be a horror...but even with the singing and obvious fake blood (a trait of Tim Burton...) it would still be a horror I'd say. I can't remember what the original book the musical is based on comes under (I assume Victorian Gothic Horror) as it only seems to get refered to as a Penny Dreadful (which tended to be Gothic Thrillers and such).

I love the original House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price, Child's Play is a classic too (except the last few they were abit =-/)...and of course can't forget the classic Nosferatu.

I love all horror movies. except for really, really cheasy ones. but i dont like gorey ones. i think they are so dumb, and shouldnt be considered "horror." i love ones with ghosts and monsters and creepy stalkers and stuff, lol.

when i was really young i watched the blare witch project, and my dad told me it wasnt a mockumentury, he told me that everything was real and i was scared to be alone for the longest time because i was scared that the blare witch was going to get me xD
now that i look back, that movie really wasnt scary at all.

I have to agree with you, with the way the film was advertised it did create a very suspenseful atmosphere to it...even if not did really happen, but it did work the atmosphere well in the places it was needed (and the ending....did :scared1: me the first time). Though the sequel was a BIG mistake that they made that (well what I remember of it).

My favourite is probably the Nightmare on Elm Street series. They might even be one of the first horror movies I ever watched, and they're just classic. My favourite are the first, third, and the one that came out after freddy died. He's always just genuinely scared me.

IMO, Saw sucks. They are really just bad. The first one was alright, but the ones after that just had really awful acting and plot lines. I mean seriously, frozen naked popsicle lady?

Uhm, Scream has always been another favourite. It's cheesy and very '90's' but I like them. I've watched them so many times, I could probably recite the dialogue.

I can't watch the really old, 'psychological' horror movies. They're just TOO much.

And, I don't think they've really done any good horror movies lately. The Ring is okay, but confusingish. I was just watching Mirrors the other day, boringgg, the plot is just kind of predictable. Last House on the Left was uhm...vulgar? Things like House of Wax are just dumb.

Uhm, oh, Final Destination! I've only seen the first and second ones, but they're really cheesy, too. I get the message though, which is an interesting one.

Is that the one where Freddy comes across to the real world....Wes Craven's New Nightmare I think its called...that was quite good. I can't say I've ever really been disappointed with any Nightmare on Elm Street films (I'm not including Freddy vs. Jason)...the 5th one has to be my favourite though :D...though I will admit all of them have there...cheesy and not needed moments haha
