Horrible terror attacks in Mumbai

Gunmen have opened fire at a number of sites in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay), killing at least 78 people and injuring about 200 more.

Police said shooting was continuing and that the incidents were co-ordinated terrorist attacks. Gunmen had taken hostages at two hotels, they said.

At least seven sites have been targeted across India's financial capital.

There has been a wave of bombings in Indian cities in recent months which has left scores of people dead.

Most of the attacks have been blamed on Muslim militants, although police have also arrested suspected Hindu extremists.

Just saw my friend that is from India. She says the Taj is the place she always goes at the holidays. Her dh is supposed to leave Sunday for Mumbai and now is not sure if they are even letting flights in. She is supposed to go in 2 weeks.
This is something I just can't understand as a human being. My prayers are with those people there.

It is incredibly horrible what is happening in Mumbai right now. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Thoughts and prayers to India and everyone with ties to India, be it via friends, family, work, or vacation.

It's awful. It's awful and sick. I was watching a program earlier this afternoon and they interrupted it to show footage. They showed several people lying in the streets, dead. I am praying for their families, and for everyone who has been/is being hurt, held hostage, etc. over there. I really hope the remaining two hotels are gotten under control ASAP. A bit ago they said the attacks were still ongoing there.

I'm praying also that the evil people who did this are all found and punished to the full extent for what they have done.

I have a business trip planned in March to Pune which is about 100 miles outside Mumbai. Doing training for 2 weeks. I was already nervous about it.....

The war on terror is unfortunately all over the world, and we have troops in places that you never even think about. .....in addition to Iraq and Afghanistan, and we are fighting the same enemy; Islamic extremist.

My father was in the Taj hotel for business less than 2 weeks ago. He goes there often. It is chilling to see the hotel he stays in on fire with hostages inside.

My thoughts are with the entire city
