Horizons By Marriott

My brother has used his timeshare to stay here and LOVES it. He sees no reason to stay on Disney property.

We are staying at BLT in 2010 and he is staying at Horizons and just meeting up with us.

I've stayed offsite 6 times (mostly Westgate properties) and I have to say that Marriott had the nicest rooms, high end finish and incredibly comfortable mattresses!

We stayed at Horizons 2 times and loved it, Aug 07 and again Oct 08.
The first trip we stayed in a 2 bedroom for the 5 of us, and had plenty of room and a great view too, that was for 8 nights.
Second trip was just DW, DD12 and myself in a one BR for 4 days while we had settlement on our new home, and still had plenty of space. The pools are wonderful. The drive to DTD is les then 10 min. and Publex is only 5 min away. Horizons would be the only place we would stay at
if we hadnt bought our home.:thumbsup2

We've stayed there twice (07 & 08) and loved every minute of it. The pools are awesome. Entertainment by pools in evening was fun for the kids. Rooms were large and comfortable. Poolside bar and very large hot tub by pool made it enjoyable after long days at the parks. Having an in unit laudry cut down on packing. Thinking of booking again!

Very nice resort. We bought a Marriott timeshare because of our first stay at Horizons in Orlando. The resort has a new name - Marriott's Harbour Lake. :)

I am glad to see all the positive reviews of Harbour Lake(FKA-Horizons). Me and my family are staying there in November for the first time. Can't wait...just a little nervous about driving/parking etc. So, it's pretty close to most of the resorts?? So glad it's close to a grocery store too!

It is a lovely resort and I second the comment about the mattresses!

I went with a friend though and it definitely isn't the place for two single men!! Ideal for families, esp with small children, but the only pools were the pirate ship ones. No quiet pools or even quiet areas. Definitely an experience :lmao:

I'm sure it varies by time of year but I found it to be no problem. I've stayed at Horizons twice in April. The first visit, was our first time off-site. We had no problems with traffic or parking. The second visit, someone asked me to time the commute to MK. We left Horizons at 8 AM. Highway (I-4?) is about a block from Horizons. We were paying for parking about 15 minutes later. We parked in HP section, walked to TTC, bought autograph books and rented a wheelchair, took monorail and were waiting at the gates by 8:45 and watching the rope drop show. We usually left parks for the day by 5:00. Traffic was heavier but never ran into traffic jam. Takes about 15 minutes from the parking lot of MK to Horizons for the return trip.

thanks my family and i are staying here in june and we need to know times to the park.

I am really looking forward to staying here in July. Is there anything special that we need to pack? We will be there with our three boys almost 2, 6, and 8 and the extended family.

We are owners at Horizons (now Harbour Lake Resort) and loved all of our Marriott time share stays but the boys especially love the waterpark/pool area of this resort. You ask what special you need to pack. I know my boys made sure to have swim goggles for all the extended water time, and they wore the goggles while playing in the Pirate Ship play area as they fired the water cannons at each other.

The two bedroom units are spacious, well planned and offer wonderful privacy for the parents lacking in a hotel room.

Enjoy! We will be checking in on June 25 and we can't wait.:dance3:

Thank you! We are looking forward to it, although there won't be too much privacy since we are sharing the 2 bedroom with the grandparents. Do they have pack and plays or cribs available?

Call Horizons and check on the number of beds. The two bedroom I stayed in had a king in the master and two queens in the second bedroom. I believe the couch in the living room was a pull-out. I was initially given a two bedroom lock out unit (which i declined) that had a different configuration. I believe it was a king in the main part of the unit, and a queen and a pullout in the adjoining part of the unit.

I've only gotten the 2 bedroom units that have a king in the master and two queens in the second bedroom. I only have two boys, but this room could easily accommodate 3 or 4 people. The couch does fold out in the loving room, but we've never had to use it.
The first time we stayed for our time share tour was at Grande Vista, the four of us in a "locked off" unit that was basically a studio. It had one bed for us and a sofa bed that the boys slept on. We had to make up the sofa bed every day, or the whole room had the feeling of a cruise ship cabin for floor space! I would never advise the studio which "sleeps 4" for anything longer than a long weekend. We couldn't get out of each other's way. Now with the two bedroom unit, peace and tranquility reign!

The staff seems very nice I called and requested a high chair and play yard and they were very nice.
