We're going to WDW in November and staying 5 nights. At first I had decided on ASMu, the I changed to WL. After searching these boards and reading reviews on TA, I just can't make up my mind! They both look like wonderful properties. I would love a 2 bedroom villa with a nice pool area for DS, 10. We 'll have a rental car. We plan to visit WDW 2 days, Wonderworks, Seaworld, and just hang out at the hotel and just relax.
Which would you chose?

I like Bonnet Creek. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and it was very nice. The resort is great as well with the pool, game room and mini golf. They have some other activities, but we didn't do them.

It's such an easy drive to the WDW parks and other resorts from Bonnet Creek. It's also right off the highway so easy to get to Sea World. I personally would do more than 2 days at WDW, but if you've been before you know what is available.

Thank you, Sherri. Did you receive a lot of pressure from timeshare salesmen when you were at Bonnett Creek?

Hey Sherri!! Can you tell me the price range for Bonnett Creek? I can't getting any pricing for July 2008 yet.

Thanks

Try the website below. It allows you to contact owners directly and you input YOUR specifications. Within a couple of days your email will have over 50 owner replies. Some will even call you by telephone. If its off season you have a good chance of getting a steal. Good Luck.

Both are beautiful resorts and you would be happy at either. But I think your 10 year old would like Bonnet Creek better since they have a lazy river which most kids love.

Kanani - could you post that link to contact Bonnet Creek owners again. It didn't show up and I'd love to have it for the future.

Thanks so much.

We own at Horizons and love it! We have two boys, ages 7 and 10, and they love just spending time at the hotel.

As with all Marriott timeshares, you'll get one call during the week asking you to sit through the sales pitch, just decline and they'll leave you alone.

While Horizons is a nice resort it isn't as high end as the full Marriotts (it was built as a "value" type resort although since that time they have dropped that idea). The location isn't as good as Bonnet Creek and the units aren't as upscale. Both have great on site amenities. BC may hold the edge for both units and amenities simply because the whole resort is less than 3 years old - much of it brand new within the last year - so the design and condition is as current as you can find.

Wyndham has some high pressure sales tactics while Marriott is less prone to it. Both can be ignored if you are renting as there is NO requirement to attend a sales presentation if you rent without any type of developer subsidy on the price. In both cases remember that it NEVER makes financial sense to buy from a timeshare developer even if you do attend the pitch and like what you see/hear. You can buy for less - usually much less - resale.

If we had the choice it would be Bonnet Creek but either resort should be a great stay.

How close is Bonnet Creek to WDW? How long of drive is it? Thanks!!

It's on the property roads although technically not on a piece of Disney owned property. You have to be inside WDW to get to Bonnet Creek. There is no access without entering WDW. It is surrounded on three sides by Disney land where MGM & Epcot are located and I-4 on the 4th side. You can't get any closer and not be at a Disney peoperty (and you'll be much closer than some Disney properties are to the parks).

Oh okay....this is the property that a lot of DVC owners get upset about when former Disser's say it is on property?? I'm sold on it....get that close to WDW and stay in a 2 bedroom villa!! Where can I find rates? The website looks pretty limited to me?

Here is the direct page. You can also find rentals on eBay, TUG and other timeshare sites.

Thank you Kanani!

To the OP...for reference, Bonnet Creek is "next door" to the Caribbean Beach Resort.
