Hopper upgrade while at park?

Ok.. made reservations through DU, and we're purchasing 5 day tickets, no extras. If once we get there we get bored at one park (or too crowded, or cranky DH wants to go to fill in the blank) , can we add hoppers? Or it is set in stone once the trip is paid off. It's $166.00 difference - not much in many people's eyes, but I just don't want to pay it unless we need it.

Can anyone make sense of my crazy rambling?

You can upgrade/add to tickets any time up 'til 14 days after their first use.
