Hopper to AP question

From what I've gathered, the hopper to AP upgrade goes like...

I paid $20 for my hopper to utilize the MM, now I want to upgrade to the AP that costs $40, which means I pay the difference of $20. Is this correct?

Also, are there kids prices for the AP or are they all the same price? Weird that they'd sell kid priced tickets, but not APs.

Correct, you'd pay the difference from what you paid for the PH. There are no kid APs. My guess would be it would be hard to know for sure if a child was "over 10". They can't ask a child for ID (except for the free bday promotion)

Yep, you pay the difference between what you want and what you paid for what you have.

No kid prices for AP. We like to look at it as a good deal for DS, and a GREAT deal for us.

Yup, another "you just pay the difference" but you pay the difference between what you paid and the upgrade. So if you buy a discounted hopper the system will know and you will be charged the full upgrade difference, does that make sense?
And no, no kids AP price. Which I actually understand, I mean my kids can both ride every ride so why should we pay less for DD9 just because she's younger? IMO they should offer discounted tickets for kids under a certain height, not by age. But that's just me.
