We are taking our 4 and 5 year old daughters to WDW this November. I am debating about purchasing hopper tickets. I am not sure that our children will be able to even go to more than one park in a day. The other benefit I see is seeing the shows/parades/fireworks at night. The hopper passes are 200 extra dollars. Would it just be better to buy a few extra day passes for $12/day? Can you use more than 1 pass a day? Thank you for your help.

Disney does not allow this .You need the hopper pass to visit more than one park per day

The previous poster is correct you can only use 1 admission per day and cannot hop unless you have a hopper pass. As small as your kids are I would probably skip the hopper and save the money. I would do length of stay passes and visit each park once and then go back to your favorites assuming you are there for more than four days. When your kids are older hopping will be easier. You can leave a park for a break without hoppers and return to that same park.

You cannot use more than 1 "day" of you ticket to access a different park, you will get an access denied message at the 2nd park if you do not have the park hopper feature.

Check out the Everything about WDW Tickets thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Whether the hopper feature is worth it to your family depends on your touring style & your family. We like them. We are a rope drop family with a break midday to either nap or swim back at our resort. Having the hopper feature, we can decide to go to a different park than where we spent the morning. We particularly like being able to "hop" on over to Epcot for dinner, as some of our favorite restaraunts are there. :)

That being said, some folks just don't see the need. And with proper planning, knowing what park you will be at which day & arranging your ADRs appropriately, I can see how you can find other ways to spend that extra 200 bucks (assuming a family of 4.)

Your kids are young enough, that you might consider a midday break to swim perhaps, but maybe not, you know your kids best. Good luck.

We just did 5 days in the parks with a 5 year old and I skipped the Park Hoppers. I'm glad we didn't do it. I believe it's an extra $52 per person for length of stay.

My 5 YO was exhausted after one park and I can't imagine dragging her to a second one! Are you staying at a DW Resort?

What I did was make most of our ADRs at our Resort restaurants. That way we went to whatever park, stayed until mid afternoon, came back and swam and then went to dinner at the resort. After that we usually opted to not go back to the parks because it was already 8PM.

We had one ADR at MK (first day) so we went to MK, back to swim, back to MK for dinner and rides.

We had one ADR at 1900 Park Fare. We did MK that day. Went to MK, back to swim, went to GF for dinner, stopped at MK afterwards.

When we went to Epcot and DHS, we didn't venture back since by the time we had dinner it was late. DD had no desire to go back either. One night we went swimming after dinner around 8PM.

Are you early risers? If you are you might be heading back for a break earlier in the day and be able to make it back out.

I did find with a 5YO that as the week wore on she was more and more tired and could barely stay awake for 10PM Wishes.

What time do you arrive? Perhaps you can squeeze in some more park time on arrival/departure days. We couldn't based on our flights but if you do this (even for dinner and fireworks at MK) you can get an extra day for $3 a person if you add a day.

ETA: it really also depends on which parks you think you will do most and where you are staying. Travel between parks can eat up a lot of time. We were at BLT but it took a while to get to EPCOT between transfering at TTC and such, another reason why we didn't go back to Epcot in the evening.

This was just my own experience, I hope it helps you a little.

Had the same debate when making our reservations. Read and had this confirmed by reservation rep, that I could add the park hopper feature to our tickets by going to a ticket counter and paying the additional money. So I booked without the park hopper and decided we could add when there if we wanted. Hope that helps make your decision easier, it did for me.

When we went in 2005, our kids were 2, 5 and 9 years old. We debated the park hopper for the same reasons but were glad we got them.

We were there for 5 days and found that AK was really only a half day park for us (no Expedition Everest yet) and were able to go back to Epcot that afternoon which we really enjoyed.

More importantly, we did plan well and got to Fantasmic over an hour early and got great seats down front and center and anxiously awaited the show. About 30 minutes to show time, it started pouring down rain and the show was cancelled. Because we had park hopper tickets, we were still able to come back and see it on another night and were glad we did.

Depending on how frequently you go to Disney it may or may not be worth it to you. For us, we don't get to go to DW very often so we want to make the most of our time there and the $200 is money well spent. hth.

Where did you find extra passes for $12, or do you mean adding a day onto your 4 passes, which is $3 per day per person? If you have separate day passes, yes you can use them, but if you are adding days onto your original park pass, at $3 per day, then no, it won't work.

If this is your first visit, then no you dont' need them.

Just make your Advance Dining Reservations around the parks you will be in on those days.

We are just back from our trip to the world, DH wanted to purchase the hopper for our son who is now 3 and needed a park pass, - we have passes that are from previou trips that did have the PH on it. I suggested we wait and if we decided we needed to hop to another park I would just go to Guest Relations and have it added. We ended up not hopping so we saved the money. I would suggest not adding the hopping to your tickets and see what happens when you get there. This way you won't feel like you have to hop to justify the money spent, you can relax and know it is VERY easy to add.

We didn't park hop with out little ones in February, and bought the hopper. By the time one park was done WE were done and went back to hotel and then to dinner at one of the other resorts usually or DTD (we stayed at SSR)
