Oh boy! Decisions, decisions! I want to purchase hopper tickets but am afraid that I might not use all the days and once we get there my DH might decide he cannot handle Disney World (it took me 7 years to talk him into THIS trip!) and we would not "hop" through the parks. He is not a lunatic like me. I LOVE running from ride to ride and everything from big to small!!!!

So, if we don't use all the days and they are not supposed to expire, what do you do with the days that are left-over????

Can someone else use them? We live in central Illinois and a weekend at Disney is NOT an option!!

Will these passes NOT expire? What about in 20 years when admission prices are quite a bit more than they are today? Will these still be good????

The unused days never expire. You can use them in 20 years.
Other persons can use the tickets, nothing will avoid them to do that, but you are not supposed to give away or resell the tickets. They are supposed to be used by the same person every time.

They never expire, and that means never. :) Other people are not supposed to use them, but, without a name it is virtually impossible to stop someone else using them.

Ticket FAQ

Q. Are tickets transferable, can I give them to someone else to use the remaining days?

A. Please note that all multi-day Walt Disney World® Theme Park Tickets are nontransferable and must be used by the same person on any and all days. The person that uses the ticket for the very first time must use the ticket for its entirety. Any tickets that are transferred in violation of this restriction are invalid for admission.

Oh, please, not again!!!!

LOL ... Sorry that my posting official WDW policy bothers you so much. I thought it would save the attacks on what those here would like to call my opinion, which it is not, it is WDW policy.

To the OP - not only do the passes not expire, but if they were purchased for a child, and the child has become an adult when he/she finally makes it back, the tickets are still good!

We have bought 7 day hoppers knowing we will never use all the days or pluses this trip - and we have no idea when we will be back. We want to go to Yellowstone next year, and then Washington DC, and then the Grand Canyon. DH only has 1 week vacation per year, so it's not about money, it's about time :(

However, we have "locked in" the current prices. We hope to go back when the girls are teens. It will be easier to convince DH since we'll already have the tickets - and what a bargain I got them for ;)

Laurie, who plans ahead ;)

ps - DH actually has 2 weeks off work a year but we spend one week with his family at Christmas and that's non-negotiable, so there's only one week left for our family vacation :( I wish he would ask for another week off instead of a raise...

In 2001 certain Disney stores were having a special sale on the 5-day hopper passes & you got a cool Disney Fun Seeker T-shirt for $169.00 each (I think). We stocked up :p . I got 4 extra passes for future use & still have them. This upcoming trip we got the FTP which include the ultimate park hopper passes.

Something to think about.......call it an epiphany I've had in the last year (well, first I heard it preached by other Disboarders, then I invented it). Laurie has the right idea, in IMHO. Continuing that train of thought....

We used to purchase AP's because I went twice a year and we figured if we ever had the "urge," half the cost of a quick trip was covered. However, my solo trip each year was coming with free passes (and no free time due to business) and the AP's were only encouraging us to do the financially stupid, which was get a little giddy and find ourselves in Florida before we added up the costs. So we started buying hoppers.

I'd been in the habit of looking for "deals" and getting a three or four day hopper for the best price possible. I even joined the cosmically stupid and bought a two day hopper off Ebay to augment a pair of three day hoppers we already had (this turned out ok, but we paid about $60 a ticket, broke the law in the process, and sweated bullets until we were through the gates, not worth it).

Then this year, it hit me....ta da, you know you're going back, stupid. IF you've got the cash (some people don't, thus the value of a Ticketmania three-day hopper), buy the biggest stinkin' pass available. The price per day goes down as the number of valid days on your pass goes up. Disney raises prices every year. I just had to blow off a trip in June, and now my existing hoppers are worth about five percent more than they were when I bought them. They're "money in the bank." IF you're going back.

So why sell the leftover days? If it takes you another seven years to talk your husband into going again, and if they raise the prices an average of five percent a year, you've A) got hopper prices at a third of current prices in seven years, and B) That's one expense you won't have to worry about.

Pat, a recent "save those hoppers" convert.

Hopper passes only expire if you're caught drinking a beer at MK. LOL. :Pinkbounc :D OK, OK, sorry! I'm a little giddy here thinking about my upcoming trip. I tried to reply to your post about beer last night but my computer shut down and wouldn't come back up. Seriously, though, we always buy the 7 day PHP's because we can use the remaining days for our next trip and we always manage to get back there even though we live in Illinois (too). Have fun planning your trip.

It does not bother me in the least . It is just one of those non enforcable rules Disney has. Without names, finger scans, etc. it is impossible to tell who bought the pass in the first place. If we were to take this rule literally, then you could never purchase them as a gift.

The policy clearly states that tickets must be used by the same person. It does not say each person must purchase their own tickets

Sha,
It also clearly states they are not transferrable, hence, if you bought them, you cannot, by their policy, transfer them to someone else.
