Anyone know when the prices of the passes go up? I read on allearsnet that the Ultimate HOpper pass just went up, but wondering when the others usually do? Does Disney do this at a certain time of the year or randomly. We will be going this December, and want to make sure that we get our passes before an increase in price.

This question sorta came up last week when AAA raised their prices. There's good reason to think that they will go up "soon". WDW pre-purchased ticket prices haven't gone up since September 2002, the competition raised their prices a few weeks ago, and the Spring Break season is right around the corner. GoldenOldie said that notice will be given a couple of days ahead of time and the increases will always take place on a Sunday.

Disney doesn't follow any pattern to their price increases although it is extremely unusual for them to raise just the UPH prices and nothing else. There could be a price increase for the rest of the tickets very soon or it could happen this summer/fall. There's just no way to know. And it is still possible that UPH's could go up again - twice in the same year. That's happened before.

I'd say that in your situation, it is a pretty safe bet that the other prices will go up before December. ;) No one in their right mind could envision Disney going over two years between across-the-board increases. As Geoff said, 9/02 was the last one.

:earsgirl: Do you think its worth getting the annual pass, even tho I'll probably only use it four or five days when we go to the parks in October. To take advantage of the perks that go with it? WE got a good discount thru AAA for our campsite, but doesn't the annual pass holders get discounts on dining and other perks??

tolter, if you are going for just 4-5 days, it might not be a great choice for you. Yes, AP holders do get a discount on some dining. Usually just 10% and that's at lunch. Then a discount on minigolf. But, I don't think it would justify the addtl. cost of the pass for you. I'm buying mine for the first time this year. I am not buying it in order to get the room discount. Staying at AllStars before moving to BWVs. So, if a AP discount does come out, that's nice. Main reason is that from August '04 to August '05 I'm planning on being in the parks about 20 days. That breaks down to about $19 a day per person. That's why I get the AP. So, do the math. Someplace there is info as to what the discounts are for AP members. Then, after adding and subtracting, you feel the pass is a good idea, then buy it. But do the math first.

goofy4tink is right. You need to do the math for your situation. The best page I know of for having the most up-to-date listing of AP benefits is the one on Deb's web site.

If you are the type who will avail yourself of many of the discounts, then the price difference between a 5 day pass and an AP may be inconsequential. But it all depends on how you plan on touring WDW.
