We will be on a quick 3 night 2 day trip end of August me, dh, and 7yo twin dd. First day we will be spending all day at MK. Day 2 we have to do the Bon Voyage breakfast at some point in the day and toy story land. I’m thinking of the possibility of adding a park hopper to hit MK for EMM or an afternoon at Epcot in addition to DHS. How would fp work? Can I book tier 1 in both parks?

Or we can do our breakfast followed by DHS and then go to a Friday night party.
I want to make the most of our time as this will be our last trip for sometime. The party worries me as it is pricey and last years August parties had such mixed reviews.
Not sure which one makes more sense but want to firm up a plan as our ADR opens next week. Thanks!

I really enjoy the Halloween parties, and that is the route I would go, however, they can be pretty busy.

If you're spending all day at MK on Day 1, I would just do Bon Voyage and HS for Day 2. The park hopper is pricey for just one day of hopping. AND you can only do FP+ in ONE park. If you do it at the first park, then you can try for FP at the other park once you've used the first three. If you make FP+ for the second park, then you don't have any for the first park.

You used the abbreviation EMM. Do you mean the PAID extra morning magic at MK or did you mean to reference the regular EMH that is one hour earlier for resort guests? If it's the latter, again, I think you'll get enough MK time with one whole day, so I wouldn't be up early and headed there again only to leave mid morning for your breakfast and then over to HS. If you mean the paid event, then I MIGHT do that on Day 2, but I would definitely have hoppers and I would do two parks on both days.

Thanks! I meant the resort guest magic hours. I’m worried we won’t be able to get it all done at MK. But I’m sure it will be great no matter what!

You are right... it WILL be great, no matter what your plan. But remember it will also be hot as heck and humid.the most important thing is to enjoy what you can do, not to let the heat, excitement, and legwork turn your family into a hot mess.

To park hop, you will spend about 40 - 60 minutes in transit, from the time you make your way out of one park, travel, and go through the security to get into the second park. It is an option best for either the commando-style tourists or the folks who want to break up their day and just hit a few favourites in each park.

I love MNSSHP, and you could certainly do everything in the park between 4 pm and close on a party night, but it isn't cheap. If your DDs love characters, it is pretty cool, and trick or treating is seldom unappreciated by youngsters. Ask yourselves if you want to spend Park time in character lineups, though. Treat lines move FAST. The BTY parade is amazing, as are the fireworks, so if you enjoy those, these can be worth the extra $. It is only wishful thinking that the evenings are much cooler, our experience is that it just gets dark and hot. But you save on sunscreen.

I don't recall how late MNSSHP runs, but it's probably past bedtime for your DDs. If you're getting up early on party morning or the morning after the party, that's something to consider. For my money the parties are overrated, I'd have more fun with an extra hopper day.:earsboy:

I agree with a pp and would do all day at mk then do your breakfast and hs the other day. No hoppers or mnsshp. We did mnsshp last year and it was okay but we wouldn’t go back for it. It was very crowded (we went in October). You’re definitely not going to get everything done at mk in a day but you can get a lot done!

:rotfl2: Made me lol. I think the party would be fun but goes late. My husband suggested we wing it and see how we feel that day and maybe go. Disney decisions are tough!

Rapunzel has other meet opps..seems like a costly decision just to meet Flynn to me. I wouldnt give up park hopping for 3 day trip or a hard ticket party for a 60 second character encounter during a meal but good luck.

The only advantage to MNSSHP is you will get to do more at MK but if it's anything like last year, it's really crowded for a hard ticket event. Either way, you will have a good time.

The parade and Hallowishes is pretty incredible. Sure, you can watch them online but it's not really the same.

We are Halloween Party fans. When my DS was little, we went to the party at 4 pm (if you have a hopper you can go to the MK even earlier) because we knew are little one wasn't going to make it much past the parade.

If you have been to WDW before, love Disney and never been the Halloween Party, I'd suggest the party. Definitely something new and memorable.

Thanks for all the ideas. We Love Halloween and Disney. I’m considering switching ideas and doing the breakfast and HS on Thursday. Then Friday doing EMH at MK go back to GF where we are staying around noon to rest then going to the party. I don’t see my family making it past 10pm though (we are early birds not night owls). We were there 2 years ago for the first time and watched the hallowishes from the poly and saw all the decorations and thought it was amazing. Although being a teacher and it being my last week of vacation made me a bit sad to see all the fall stuff in August...

Yikes. This makes me nervous for you! Hopefully he understands that WDW is one giant heavy crowd...
We went 2 years ago last week in August his first time and he only had two moments of OMG at BOG lunch and BBB. Me on the other hand I could not believe how much had changed since my 2002 visit!
