Hoping for rain!!

I live in Seattle and would love to have warm weather!! Its been so cold this year with temps not even reaching 85 yet... Mostley 60's and 70's. We are going down to southern cali in Sept hoping for good weather I really want to play on the beach with my 2 year old !!!!

Sure, and then pigs will fly, the Beatles will unite for a reunion concert and....racking my brain for more unlikely events but come up empty!

Did you happen to see a headline about the Beatles? I saw one a few days ago and can't remember what event it was for. I just read past it since I wouldn't be there anyway.

We leave in 2 weeks, and I wasn't planning on packing much (if any) rain gear. So happy to hear that what I had had been reading about low rain (if any at all) in Aug is ture. MUCH better then going to WDW in Aug. We did that for our 10th wedding anniversary (2003) and vowed never to go back to Fla in Aug again.

I was however wondering about warmer clothes. Do you think we will need long pants and jackets much, if all? I wasn't going to leave with out packing at least of each for everyone, but don't know if I will need more. I am trying to not over pack, but I don't normally succeed at it.

2 weeks from today! I can't wait!

While we may have a freak summer storm in July I can't remember the last time we had one in August.

As for long pants and jackets-it depends. Most evenings we really cool down from the summer heat. However, I did say most.

That being said when I go to DL in the summer and I plan on staying into the evening/night I usually bring along jeans and a jacket for later. Even if I just leave them in the car. But them I'm a So. Cal. native and (apparently) have thin blood. When it dips below 68-69 in the evening I get cold. Especially when it's damp. (and yes, we do get damp at night)

We just got back. We were in SoCal from July 31st to Aug 9th. It rained the am before I got there. It never did the rest of the trip, but the weather was almost perfect. Sunday we went to Santa Monica beach and it wasn't so great then (marine layer.) but inland I think was pretty nice.

Some days were pretty hot in the sun, but pleasant in the shade.

yup we got back 8/7. No rain for our fun weekend. It was pretty warm at times.
