The glory days are over and HK and CPR now recognize the renovation efforts. The 3br for 90 is gone, now its 140, same as CPGVs. Glad I booked Dec trip months ago.......

Wow, huge bummer! Thanks for posting this 26555...I just checked too and it looks like the prices are more in line with the Grand Villas now. Makes sense, I guess, since the renovation really seemed to be a major upgrade for CP. We had a great stay in a 3 bdrm there in early April at an awesome rate. Guess we'll need to find a new deal...somewhere...any ideas?! :smooth:

It's actually still a pretty good deal, especially if traveling during holidays were the rate stays the same. The biggest advantage is that you know the quality you are getting since the entire area was remodeled. You can look at the website and that's what you get. I'm regreting booking what I thought would be a nicer resort, Sheraton Vistana, for more money and wondering what section I'll get.

Yes, the 3 bdrm units are probably a good deal still at $140 per night...but that's out of our range! :( Fortunately, we normally only need a 2 bdrm (we had MIL with us in April and needed an extra room) and that's still under $100...And your right about knowing the quality of the accomodations. We were really pleased with our unit and would know what to expect there in the future.

Yippee, I booked 6 days ago for Dec. I had been going back and forth on whether I should go ahead and do it or not. Glad I did. The price for the 2 bedroom at CP went up about $23 a night. That would have turned our great deal into just an OK deal.

Good thing you booked, can you imagine how you'd be kicking yourself if you hadn't!

I booked a 2-bdrm at CP a few months ago at www.inntopia.com/vacationguide for $80/night. (We didn't book with Hotel Kingdom because we didn't want to pay for our entire stay up front - Inntopia only requires 1 nt deposit.) They're still offering the $80 rate for October. Has anyone used them before?

Yippee! :cool1: I just booked 2 nights at CP in a 2 BR on Monday for our August trip. Glad I got the good rate!

booked a 2 bed thru HK about two months for week after Christmas, pretty sure the rate was 74 0r 72 :bounce: Noticed they had increased a few days ago. I was lucky enough to get one of the HI rooms for $1, I seriously can't decide if I want to give up CP :confused3. DH is going to have me committed.

Just curious to find out if you only get a 2 Bedroom at Cypress Pointe Resort can you hear the people in the 'Lockout bedroom' if it's occupied?
Anyone ever experience this situation?
Debbie

I booked my August stay in March.. good thing I did. My dates are not only sold out on HK but higher rate.

I wonder if the DIS caused them to raise thier rates.

Debden,

We could hear the people in the lockout bedroom somewhat if we were near the connecting side (in the second bedroom and bathroom). The only time we could actually hear what they were saying is when we were doing laundry, as that was right next to the connecting door. Their cigarette smoke bothered me more, as the only place we couldn't smell that was the master bedroom.

I thought I read somewhere that there was no smoking in any of the rooms at CP?

I was really upset that I had postponed making our December booking, hoping to get our plane tickets first. I bit the bullet and booked last night through the inntopia link that hawn-yackers posted. (Thank you, hawn-yackers!)

I did a little research first and inntopia is based in Vermont, has been around for a while, and seems to have a good reputation. Most of the info I could find was from people who had used them to book B&Bs.

I think they may have switched to charging for the entire stay upfront, but their refund policy is good. I hope I did the right thing!

I think it was the remodeling efforts that but them on a level with CPGVs that led to higher rates. It was just a matter of time. They are also getting more bookings with RCI exchanges now that they have been remodeled so they will need HK less for vacancies and you'll see less CPR on Skyauction.
