Hope I did the right thing!

Today I changed our reservation from a studio at BWV to a 1-bedroom at OKW for 6 nights in June. We won't have a car, but I'm hoping the extra space makes up for the loss of convenience in location. This might have been a bad idea.

OKW is a great resort. The rooms are big. I'm sure you'll love it. Plus a one bedroom is so much better than a Studio for 4 people.

I absolutely LOVE OKW. If you've never stayed there before, the rooms are noticably bigger, and for what it's worth, we never have a car at Disney. I don't find that it's any more difficult to get around at OKW than any of the other resorts. If you haven't made a room request, I really like the Turtle Pond area. It has its own pool, and a fast food service/bar area there. It's nothing fancy, but super nice when you're at the pool.

One word of warning...once you go from a studio to a 1 BR, you will NEVER want to go back! You'll love the full kitchen and having separate sleeping areas! Makes the extra points well worth it!

We've stayed at OKW twice before becoming members. We loved it. The rooms are huge, and although it is not right next to a park, it is centrally located. We've had good luck with the busses both times too. Yes, we did have the one twenty minute wait, but we've also had that same issue at AKV and BWV. I think you're going to love the extra space.

I would take the extra room over Animal kingdom any day. Every time we eat at Boma and take the bus back to our room. It seems like forever waiting for the right bus to come along.

Don't worry......not a bad idea at all. We are Boardwalk lovers, but you will love OKW just as much for different reasons (we have never had a car at OKW). Enjoy the differences of the two resorts, not worry about the differences and you will have a wonderful trip. Beware though, as previously stated, once you go to a one bedroom it is very hard to go back to a studio. I don't know what I would do without in-room laundry!!

Thanks everyone! We almost always stay in a 1 bedroom. The only thing available at BWV when I booked was the studio, so I've been questioning it since March. Today when I called, OKW was avail for all our nights so I grabbed it. I just hope we love it (dh hates bussesfrom MK at night but that would have been a challenge anyway). 14 more days!

Although I have not stayed at OKW before, I agree with others that you will love the extra room! 1 bedrooms are awesome! Enjoy your trip and please do share your thoughts when you return.

As owners at both OKW & BWVs, I think you made the right decision especially for 4 people. We love both resorts for different reasons (love the boat to DTD) and we seldom ever have a car. Have a great trip!

As I have said before LOVE, LOVE, LOVE OKW!! You will not regret this change...and the extra space will definitely spoil you for a studio anywhere! Can't wait to hear what you think after you return!! Have a magical time!!
