Hope for Walk Up Dining?

Yesterday I called to change my ADRs from 6 people to 4 people and was chatting with the CM about the 90 day booking window, online rezzies, etc. and specifically how the new system prevents people from being able to double book. She told me that many restaurants are showing booked in the system, but the restaurants actually have empty tables because people were grabbing every ADR they could and not cancelling the ones they weren't going to use. She was on the phone with a woman the other day who was booked for a 7 day vacation and had over 100 ADRs booked--e.g. Character breakfasts scheduled for 8am, 9am, 10am, 11am because she just didn't know when they were going to want to eat! This is frustrating and inconsiderate of people, but for those of you who have had trouble getting the ADRs you wanted during FD, there may be hope with walk ups. Thought I would share.

It is possible to go online and book that way if you use different names and phone numbers. It can be very frustrating. I'm not sure how well the online system is going to work but I guess you can also call and give different names as well but don't they tie the dining to your reservation if you call. Online you don't need to attach it to your reservation.

Some people!!!! I just get furious when I hear about people like that. Disney should have you use a credit card to make the reservations and if you don't show up you get a fine for every one you miss. Not only does Disney loose out on money but those are tables others could use, there's got to be a better way. :sad2::sad2::sad2:

If you were staying off site you don't have a ressie number and you are still allowed to book ADR's.

When people want to get around something they will find a way.

Well that's just SO wrong. I agree on requiring a credit card to hold a ressie; bet that would cut down on the double/triple bookings.
