Hooray! The wait list came through!

We wanted to stay at BCV for our upcoming trip on 4/29. Nothing was avail so we went with BWV and asked them to waitlist us for BCV not really expecting anything to open up.

On Saturday, we got a new confirmation in the mail for BCV! Hooray! The wait list really works! I didn't realize they would simply send a new confirmation in the mail, I figured they would call or something.

My waitlist for OKW came in yesterday for Memorial Day weekend. I was actually on the phone with DVC when it happened. I was adding a standard view one bedroom at BWV to our fall trip and my waitlist came in while we were checking the points balances. It was kind of funny.

You must have signed up for automatic confirmation - that's why you got the new confirmation in the mail and no phone call. Under that method, when something comes through, they just book it for you and send out the confirmation.

If you waitlist the other way, they call you and ask if you still want the day(s). If you aren't there when they call and have an answering machine or voice mail, they leave a message. You usually have until the end of the next business day to call back or they move to the next person in line for the Day(s). Not sure what happens if you don't have an answering machine and aren't there when they call. Maybe they try a few times and then move on.
