Is Hoop Dee Doo worth $50?

Would you recommend it or did you wonder why you went after seeing it? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I just made reservations this morning for my dd(7) and myself for June 27 because the CM I was talking to told me there were actually 2 openings available. We have never been. I'm using the dining plan (2 table service meals). Please tell me it will be worth it! Otherwise, I'll cancel now and do 2 other meals instead (we've done Chef Mickey's, CRT, Park Faire, and Crystal Palace character meals, and are doing LTT in October). I was thinking about Whispering Canyon since we are staying at the WL for the 1st time.
Please advise! Thank you!!!

With little kids it is worth it. The food is delicious, some of the best that we have eaten at Disney. We were two adults and two teenage boys. We weren't too enthused about the show but if we had little kids they would have loved it.

Keep in mind that DDE holders get a 20% discount on the 9:30PM show.

It's a hoot! It's VERY corny but intended to be that way and I agree little kids love it but if you "let yourself go" you too can have fun with it. Sometimes it's just about letting your guard down and clapping along and singing silly songs with everyone else.

We're going back to the World hopefully in the Fall and HDDReview will be on the list. The food is messy and good...ribs, chicken, corn, beans, salad, bread. It's all you can eat and they literally slam down galvinized buckets on your table!

I bet you'll be singing all the way home...

My sister-in-law insisted on taking us all to the Hoop-dee-doo in January. My ds, 9, dd, 6 and my mom and I were tired and crabby from a full day of walking at Epcot. We waited forever for a bus to take us to the WL. By the end of the dinner, we were all laughing, clapping, and singing along. I highly recommend it. It was a lot of fun for everyone in our family.

DH and I have been twice and he's talking about needing to go again. I took my DF who had never been to Disney and she is definitely planning on doing it again when she takes her family. IMHO, you certainly don't need kids to enjoy it - I crack up at it each time!

Here to Restaurants Board the experts here can givE you some good information on HDDR.I've been over 15 times and enjoy both the food and show.I think it is worth the money. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

We were just there 2 weeks ago and it was worth it. Especially with younger kids. DD5 and DS7 loved all of it...the show and the food! It is pretty slapstick, but very cute and they do a good job of getting the audience involved! We would go again! We all know with young kids...that meals are a lot less stressful when the kids are entertained!

On The Lake, I hope you decide to go to HDD.

It is unBEARably funny :rotfl2: (little HDD joke, for those who have seen the show)

Yes, it is worth $50! The show is a lot of fun - many corny jokes and the food is good, too! Basically, the $50 gets you a musical/side show type of entertainment plus a meal. I think $50 is a reasonable price! Enjoy! :)

We think it's worth it - it's very funny and is a great time! Plus we really enjoy the food and sangria ;)

REmember that it is no more expensive than any other dinner show like Medieval Times, Dixie Stampede, etc. You get a night of entertainment and a meal =)

we LOVE IT!!! it is a family fave and must do!!

for those that have seen the show, dh (all 6'4" of him) was the FINALE!! talk about FUN! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We are going at the end of September and I am considering trying the Hoop Dee Doo. My DDs are 9 and 5.
The only thing I am concerned with is transportation back to the POP after the show.
I guess I need to book an early show so I can get a bus to one of the parks and return to POP from there?
Any suggestions/comments or ideas?

Thanks

when we were at the HDDR last year (also staying at pop) when the show emptied out it was my "plan" to go to the beach and watch wishes or grab a horse/carriage ride or take the boat back to MK and grab a bus from there... but much to our surprise, there were buses lined up w/nice friendly bus drivers stating their destinations (i.e. yacht/beach clubs and pop)... i would say each bus held about three resorts worth of people and were not crowded and it was super easy and convenient... we had to drop others off first but it was not a big deal... disney truly does make it easy for us! LOL! (although i was a bit disappointed that we were unable to "explore" FW more but it was late and we'd laughed so hard so going back to our resort was okay)

I think that most people who post here on the DIS seem to like it, but as with anything, tastes vary and some just don't care for that kind of show. Our grandchildren love the show, so we see it at least once a year. The cost doesn't really seem all that bad, IMO, for dinner and entertainment at WDW.

When the show gets out, there is a line of buses out front and CMs standing there to tell you which to get on for your resort - very convinent and easy, and every resort is represented. We did the 930 show, so it was almost midnight when we left and they were all there waiting for us =)
