Any updates or rumors of an opening for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue? It's one of my family's absolute favorites.
Our next Disney adventure is the end of October to early November and would lover to be able to go !!

From your lips to the Disney Gods’s ears! Really wanting to do HDD with the whole family next January-February. It would be a perfect highlight for our resort day. Here’s hoping!!

Actors haven’t been recalled yet but they’re reopening the kitchen (same kitchen that services Hoop-Dee-Doo services Trail’s end, which reopens 7/17), which may provide a clue to where management’s heads are at. It will take roughly 6 weeks to get the show stood back up whenever they do recall the actors, less if everyone returns (unlikely but 🤷‍♂️).

So you should hold out hope until Mid-September.

I remember seeing something back in April or May reporting that the Cast had been called back.....was that not accurate?

Yup. It was reported by a few reliable sources on April 22nd.
I thought so.....I am now realizing that the term "cast" though to me immediately led me to think that the performers were being called back....could be anyone really as that is the term Disney uses to refer to all employees......so maybe, by "cast" they meant servers who will be serving in Trails End.....I HOPE I am wrong, but with our trip inside of 4 weeks I am not going to hold my breath any longer with the hope we may be able to whoop it up at the Hoop dee doo. Surely it will be back before our NEXT trip though!!!

Indeed, I too (and I think MOST people) read it as "performers".

There is one other thing we know - there were some permits filled for Pioneer Hall as well around the same time frame. We do not know much about them other than they were for labor for construction and electrical work. So there are really 2 possibilities here. Either those were to make the building safe since it has been unused (what we thought) OR they are doing modifications to the show.

If the later, those could be minor modifications in order to support social distancing OR they could be more drastic changes to give the show a bit of an update. If the later, that would also call for new training which may mean a longer timeline for rehearsals.

Any more news on HDDR return date? Arriving 10 23 to 11 4

I'm starting to worry about HDD. It's a family tradition for us, but I've read that Spirit of Aloha has been permanently cancelled (can anyone confirm?) which is making me worry that this radio silence re: HDD is not a good sign.

I was thinking the same thing and then I saw HDD mentioned on the TV special last weekend. It would be unlike Disney to leave that in and then cancel it. I can’t remember exactly what context the show was mentioned but I remember thinking, oh maybe that’s a good sign.

Then again, the fountain in Epcot was mentioned also and that’s probably not coming back.….. (or am I misremembering the special no confusing it with something else I recently watched?)

HDDR was a family tradition for us too. It was always packed, so it seemed like it would be a money maker. But, we went to Spirit of Aloha once, and it was packed too. So, if it is true that Spirit of Aloha isn't come back, being crowded isn't much of a gauge.

I remember the fountain being featured as part of the part that focused on Epcot's opening. I don't remember the part about HDD, but now you're giving me an excuse to go back and watch it again.

It wasn’t a feature story. I feel like it was maybe someone’s memory or a cast member memory? But regardless I feel like Disney is the type that if they were going to take out hoop dee do they would have not included it in the special but just erased it from memory. I kinda wish they hadn’t mentioned the fountain because it just made me sad. That area of Epcot was a place I loved and I miss it so. It was just sooooo peaceful.

I was just wondering about this because we always go and I would love to go on our next trip but then I realized it probably won’t open until it is safe for them to have all the audience interactions without masks. At least I’m hoping that’s the only thing keeping them from opening. I would be devastated if they closed it.

In a KtP blog post this week, they asked Randy, the original opening day pianist at Casey's, if he was planning to continue performing (they brought him back for the 50th). He said he was only there for the anniversary but would be playing soon in Pioneer Hall! Here's hoping that's a hint Hoop Dee Doo will be opening soon.
