We have made reservations for Feb. 2008 for our first trip to FW.
I have heard from many and read on this forum that the Hoop Dee Doo Review is a must do.
We are planning to be around FW for the day on the Wed. of our weeks stay.
I looked at HDDR web site and see differant options on seating.

Any recomendations what seats to get?

Any other info that might be helpful with HDDR or any other attraction in FW would be appreiciated.

First:welcome: to the dis boards second do you mean feb 09 would book HDDR whatever seat will be good but bottom level near front would be best if you can get it have never seen a bad show in the many times i have been and always great food

We went to the Hoop Dee Doo the last time we were at the Fort and it ended up on our most favorite list. We've already made our reservations for our trip back in October.

Hoop Dee Doo is so so much fun! I think you are gonna love it. When we went this past May we were on the DDP. We went to the second show (7:15) and were given Cat 2 seating. We were in the back of the room but our table was higher than the ones in front of us. I thought out seats were great because we could see over everyone, my kids liked it because their seats swiveled. Hope this helps.

Have a great time!

I've only been seated up near the front. We will be going again in September and will be in the Category 3 seating.

From what I hear, it sounds like there is not a bad seat in the house.

My recommendation is to try to get in to the earlier show ... you get a lot of very tasty food (all you can eat) and you may find you need some time to "work it off" before going to bed.

We have been both upstairs and right behind the piano player. We loved both. Enjoy the show where ever you end up.

Never went to the HDD. I was thinking it wasn't a kids thing to do. Am I wrong group?

My girls went a month and a half ago and talk about it almost everyday. They are 4 & 5. They thought it was silly and fun. :rotfl:

Wow! So good to know. Another thing we've been missing. Oh yeah on a somewhat related note, I wondered if they were doing the Mickey's Backyard Barbecue anymore at Fort Wilderness?

it is still there.

Absolutely "a kids thing to do". It's a bit pricey...but worth it for a special trip and lasting memory. We've gone a couple of times. While it's not a must do for every trip..since the show has NEVER changed...I would recommend it at least once. Kids will love it, and the food is actually pretty good.

Hoop Dee Doo is definitely a place for kids, the whole show is family oriented. You'll have a blast!!!

I wouldn't call it a "must do", but if you have the time and can fit it in, definitely go!! You will NOT be dissapointed!

Hi all.
Am new to DIS ... this is my second posting. We're heading to Disney World in December (in a cabin at FW). I've booked the Hoop Dee Doo but ended up having a category 3 in the balcony. We're all sitting side by side with swivel chairs apparently so we can turn and eat at the table and then swivel to see the show.

Are these really horrible seats? If so I'll cancel. We're on the basic dining plan. They're the only seats I could get for the week we're there. There's 2 adults & 4 kids ages 11,9,8,7. I have heard so much about this show, I don't want it ruined just because we got crappy seats. I'd rather just pick somewhere else to take the kids if that's the case.

Thanks much.

Don't worry - there really are no "bad" seats! You'll have a great time! :thumbsup2

I agree! No bad seats anywhere. Or at least not any bad ones we've had. Been to it 4 times, once upstairs, and the rest on the floor. Our closest was next to the stage and piano player which was nice... but really, all the seats were good.

We love HDDR and I have been twice and don't think there's a bad seat in the house!

Both times we've been on the bottom floor (first time in the very back and second time in the very front) and the players still make the rounds even upstairs so everyone gets a "close-up" during the evening. I even walked upstairs during a show to check it out to see if it would be acceptable in the future and I think it would be.

It is a little pricey but when you consider you get an all-you-can-eat dinner of fried chicken, ribs, and sides PLUS beer and wine (foreign labels extra but domestics included) plus the enterainment plus the gratuity ALL INCLUDED this ol' tightwad would be the first to say it's a great value :cool1:

There are 5 adults (by Disney standards) in my family now so $300+ for a dinner is a splurge but if it comes down to a pricey WDW resort restaurant or HDDR I'd pick HDDR each time. It's fun and corny humor so it's good for the entire family (all ages) and justifiably (sp?) one of the longest running shows at WDW. In fact I have an Internet download of the songs recorded live that I refer back to occasionally. :woohoo:
