What are your thoughts about everything Hoop-Dee-Doo? Amazing? So-so? Yay? Nay? Planning our trip and a dinner show sounds fun. My parents, DH and 2 college age DS will be attending.

Yes. It's a hoot! The show is corny/cheesy but tons of fun. To me the food is ok. DH loves the fried chicken and shortcake.

We've both been in the show...me when I was 13 (can can girl) and DH a few years ago (Indian). Now we want both of our girls to be picked to be in it!

I think they actually size some people up as they are entering the show. I'd think that sitting near the stage might be a good way to get chosen too. Also, look like you are happy to be there and enjoying the show.

I've seen 3 shows in the past few years & can tell that they choose people by type, not by seating arrangement. Three people will be chosen. One will be a little boy, probably between the age of 4 and 7. One will be a young woman in her twenties, very pretty and typically blonde. One will be a man with a strong or stocky build.

Yes, if you're a woman & not both very young and very pretty, you can forget about being picked for the current version of the show. The young woman is put in a ridiculous pseudo-sexy dress, & a joke is made about her appearance being more important than her acting...

We're whoop for the Hoop. It's a wonderful multi-generational show. I've never left without a smile on my face.

Don't worry about that. Last summer I was chosen and I was 39, brown hair, brown eyes. We were sitting right up against the stage though. Good luck!

ETA-I also had my teenage children with me. Definitely NOT 20!
