When leaving the Hoop Dee Doo dinner show, what are the transportation options back to your resort. If the Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 or 7:00 and the dinner show gets out at 9:00 will the boats still be running back to the MK. Or is there a bus that will take us back to the resort.

Thanks :cool1: :sunny:

If MK is closed, when the HDDR lets out, there are special busses waiting at the bus stop near there to take guests back to their resorts.

Each bus will take guests back to a GROUP of resorts so there may be a couple of stops before you get to your resort.

There are supposed to be special buses?

Here's my experience with the Hoop-Dee-Doo and transporation:

We went to the 7:15 show or whatever. When it got out it was downpouring. We asked one of the people who worked there how we'd get back to our hotel. They said take the boat back to the MK and then hop the bus. So we went and waited for the boat. Then finally another guest came along and said the only boat that will be coming is the one for the CR and WL, since the MK was closed. We went back to the building the Review is in and asked again, they said we had to go to the bus stop, take a bus to the main bus stop and then take a bus to DTD, then get on the bus to our resort. We went to the main bus stop and waited for about an hour and no DTD bus. Finally an Epcot bus came, since I knew the buses run from the Parks to resorts for about an hour after closing, he agreed to take us to Epcot so we could hop our resort buses there. Mind you we all caught the last bus to our resort.

Because of that, I will never do Hoop-Dee-Doo again (that and the food wasn't cooked). But since the other guy says they have special buses, I'd call Disney and ask them.

There were buses when we were there and it was off season and the Mk was still open. I had heard it could be hard to get back and wanted to drive but DH did not so we took a chance with the understanding if it looked like a pain to get back we would get a taxie. Buses were waiting as we came out and we were back at the the resort in no time. Now we are WL addits and just have to take the boat back to the WL!

I'm telling ya... either there were really buses there and the cast members didn't know.. or Disney changed things in the past year.. but man o man.. I had never been so annoyed in my life (not to mention sick)... but jeez I wish there woulda been them buses when I went!

::MickeyMo We went to the 9:30pm show last year and there were buses waiting for us, specifically for our resort. It was great! ::MinnieMo

We were there Friday the 29th, at the 7:15 show. It was a Grad Night, so MK closed at 7. We we got out at 9:15 or so, there were CMs asking us where we were going and directing us to one of several buses that were waiting for us. Our bus went to 5 resorts, I think. I thought we might have to take a bus to Epcot and then another one to our resort, but this was much easier.

Yes, Disney did add the busses last summer. Officially, they don't PROMISE that there will be busses just in case something happens.

the buses back to the resorts can not be guaranteed as they only run them when they have the available buses, drivers, etc. From what I have seen, they are running them more and more but I would still have a plan "B" in case they are not there. It is a very nice service after the Hoop!

Would it be easier to just drive and then take the internal bus? Was kind of hoping it would be mega easy to get back with a guaranteed resort bus - since they serve wine. :drinking1

We always drive to the front of the Wilderness Campground then take the resort bus back to the HDDR show. This works perfect everytime.

We had buses waiting for us as far back as the year 2000. I always found the transportation "home" to be convenient.

If you post this thread on Transportation, the ever-reliable Chip, Disney bus driver and transportation guru, will confirm whether resort buses are available. I am 95% sure that, after all I've read in the last year, there ARE buses.

Believe me, if you're going to drink, it's better to relax and let Disney do the driving. Leaving Ft Wilderness with a bit of a buzz is no fun. :sad2:

Besides Chip 'n Dale, you can also trust Ed's ...aka betterlatethan never...advice. I do believe he has earned an honorary pair of purple pants. ::yes::
