f you are on the dining plan you can use 2 TS but they want a credit card will it be charged to card and then credited or just held in case of no show?

When I booked on the dining plan recently there was an option online to hold using your dining plan credits. I think they take your credits regardless if you attend or not this way. I didn't have to put in my credit card info. We went to the show and didn't have to say anything about being on the dining plan and we never got anything charged on a card.

This is how it USED to work...I think it's still the same...

  • Some reservations, such as Fairytale Dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table, will require that you use a credit card to pay in full to book. For more information, see our ADRs That Require a Credit Card section. If you have purchased the Disney Dining Plan as part of your reservation, the system will already have that information. Be sure to choose Level 2 or 3 seating for the Hoop Dee Doo Revue or the Spirit of Aloha dinner show if you are on the Dining Plan. Level 1 seating is also available for the late show at Hoop De Doo for those on the Dining Plan. Whether your reservation requires prepayment or a credit card guarantee you will be asked to enter this information in on the next screen. IF you have booked a dining package (Standard or Deluxe) you can choose between Disney Dining Plan Guarantee (for credit card guarantee) OR Credit Card Advance Payment. Make sure to read and understand any cancellation policies connected with your reservation. If you are choosing to pay out of pocket for your reservation, it will be charged at this time to your credit card.

When I booked the HDDR a few months ago, I had already purchased the DDP. We chose Cat 2 seating for the 6:15 seating, and it automatically used my credits and did not require CC payment

Unless they have changed the way this is done, you have to use a credit card to guarantee your reservation (the card will not be charged at the time of booking). This applies only if you already have a dining plan on your room reservation. If you don't, you won't be given that option - you'll have to pay in full when you book it.

You don't have any dining credits until the day you have checked in for your package. They can't deduct credits from your account when you book, because you have no credits to deduct. What happens is that when you pick up the tickets for your dinner show, the credits are deducted from your account at that time. If you don't pick up your tickets, don't cancel and don't show up, if you left a credit card as a guarantee, that card will be charged the full price of the dinner show. You'd be paying for the dinner show you never attended, but you will still have the dining credits because they were never deducted from your account.

You can also switch a prepaid reservation to dining credits payment, and get the prepayment refunded. If you can't do this ahead of time with a credit card guarantee by calling WDW-DINE, you can do it when you pick up the tickets.
