Do you really need to arrive 30 minutes early? Also, we are staying at the WL. How long should we plan for travel time to the show? Thanks!

you will need to check in before entering pioneer hall and after the show starts i believe there is not admittance. from WL, there is a boat over to the campground. then a short walk--2 mins?--from the dock to pioneer hall. i would be at the boat dock at WL the min 45 mins beforehand. it is about 10 mins to the campground on the boat. enjoy!:yay:

Yes - you'll need to check in - and if you want your picture taken (they sell the pictures) I'd be there early.

There is also a bus from WL to FW, not as pretty as the boat but much faster. Leave your room at WL about 40/45 min before show time, catch the bus for a quick trip, the boat for a scenic one. The bus, depending on wait time will take 5-20 min, the boat, if you just miss it can take more than 30min, if it is at the dock it is about a 10min trip.

1) We tell EVERYONE to get there 30-minutes early.
2) This helps cut out the inconsiderates, slackers and habitually late folks.
3) After check-in you stand around for a long time.
4) You only need to be there 5-minutes early.
5) Trust me.

Thanks everyone for the responses. How long does the dinner/show actually take anyway?

I'd also suggest getting your hard ticket beforehand (as I was not aware to do this).

I only had my confirmation number, which as far as I knew was all I needed. The line is horizontal in front of Pioneer Hall and they mark you off as you give them the confirmation. They marked me off, but told me I had to go get a ticket. This line was very short, but disorganized and slow- I think mainly due to guests being confused and thinking they had reservations, who really didn't.

As a result, I did need to be there half an hour early, but apparently because I was clueless as to how it worked.

We were 30 minutes early for a 5pm show. It took less than 5 minutes to check in and get the photo, then 25 minutes to sit around. They don't even start seating people until 5pm. Next time I'll show up 15 minutes early and skip the photo.

Take your confirmation number to the front desk of your resort and have them print your tickets for you. I'm not sure what everyone means by checking in unless they didn't print their tickets. We handed our tickets to the guy at the door and sat down. Allow more travel time than you think you'll need.

Yeah! My plans are coming together. We arrive at MCO at 4:30pm from LAX. We have tier 1 reservations for the 9:30pm show (which is like 6:30pm to us Californians). I think 5 hours should be enough time to take the ME to the WL, check in, and rest for a while before heading over to Fort Wilderness at about 8:30/8:45 ish. Please let me know if my plan sounds reasonable.

I didn't know this. Does the bus run pretty regularly?

what about from pop century? what is the best route to and from? can we take the pretty route afterwards? we have reservations for the 7:15 reservations on 9/14

as for the pictures - do they put this on the photopass?

The bus is part of the FW internal system and loops between WL and FW Outpost, stopping at camping loops along the way, all day long.

Best way from most any hotel(MK area hotels being the exception) is to take your hotel bus to MK, then catch the FW boat from there, reverse to go home.
If the MK closes before your show is over(actually even if it isn't)the last 2 shows provide bus service back to hotels, several hotels will be grouped on one bus, but CM are there to direct you as needed.

Don't know about photopass.

The best route from Pop is bus to Magic Kingdom and then boat to Fort Wilderness. Allow about an hour or more.
