Hoop Dee Doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ?

We are going to WDW next week and have Mickey's Backyard BBQ planned. We are also going to WDW in December. Do you think it would be better to do Hoop Dee Doo next week and Mickey's in December because the winter would be better for outdoor weather and less crowded?

What show did you like better? Was the food the same? It looks like the same food but I have read that some people don't like Mickey's food. Please comment. We did the show at the Poly and although I liked the entertainment I thought the food was bad and the waitress was never around to refill our drinks (not even my pop)!

We've done both. The food is comparable but for some reason seemed better in HDDR. I would def. change plans to switch the two around. MBBQ is outside and it's awfully hot out there right now!!

I liked HDDR a lot better than the BBQ. Entertainment, food, atmosphere were all super at the HDDR. The BBQ was fun too, just different entertainment. The BBQ was Sing-along songs, a roping cowboy, dancing with the characters and line-dancing. The BBQ is serve yourself so no need to worry about refills, you do it yourself!

Since Mickey's is seasonal, I would check to see if it is available in Dec. If it is I would go for Mickey's then just due to the heat in July. We have done both and liked HDDR better, thought the food was better and enjoyed the show more.

Mickey's BBQ is available in December per a CM. Thank you for the replies. I think I will switch it around due to the heat/bugs!
