Hoop-Dee-Doo or Mickey's Backyard BBQ???

We've never done either of these and are trying to figure out which one makes better sense for a family of four with 8-year-old DS/DD twins.

(We already have a princess breakfast and a Cape May Cafe character breakfast lined up for this specific trip.)

I think your kids are kind of at the upper age level that might be thrilled with the barbecue...it seems to skew a bit younger. How interested are your kids in meeting Disney characters? Would they like the ability to get up and dance with the characters?

Hoop de Doo has no Disney characters but it has a more engaging show for a larger range of ages. Boys the age of your kids seem to particularly love the slapstick humor.

My kids completely enjoyed and still talk about Hoop Dee Doo. It was their BEST time of the trip and they were very into it. We also did the CRT and several other character meals and they by far would choose this to do again over any of those. They were 5(DD) and 7(DS).

Unfortunately my husband and I missed out on alot of that magic because our DD(1) did not like the loud music. We watched from the back with our beers... while the 5 and 7 year old enjoyed the show with the grandparents. What's a mom to do?

I don't think you'll be disappointed with Hoop Dee Doo... Just my opinion.

I have done both, They both have simular food but the BBQ is all you can eat with free icecream, I also think younger kids enjoy the BBQ better. Much more danceing and characters they can enjoy.
Keep in mind that both of these are must do's at least once, but you don't have to do them the same trip.
