Hi, everyone!

There will be nine of us dining (two families and a babysitter... Woo HOO!)

Moms and dads are your average 30 somethings.
Babysitter is in her late 20s
Two kids will be 4.5
One kid will be 2.5 (FREE)
One will be 18mos (FREE)

DDE (which I have) doesn't cover the BBQ nor the earlier seatings for HDD, so we're paying full price.

What do you think? Are the kids too young to appreciate HDD quite yet? Or is it right up their alley?

I am wondering the same. On our last 3 trips we did Hoop-de-doo and our kids from 3 (now 7 ) and 5 (now 9) loved it. We are going in 10 days. We have never done Backyard BBQ. HHD is great though. Food is good and kids like it. We have DDE also but can't eat at 9:30...too late. Also won't land until 5 pm at earliest and BBQ starts at 6:30. We could probably make HDD at 7:30 but I was also thinking of just going to Trails End (same food probably). You however would love the shows. Anyone else? How is BBQ?

We went to the HDDR in 2004 and absouletly loved it! The kids in our group enjoyed it just as much. Our group was me, DH (in our 30's), DS6, DS7, my Mom and Dad (early 60's), my sis, her DH (both in their 30's), DS5 & DS18mnths. All of the boys enjoyed it, I remember my nephew at 18 months laughing and laughing! I'm not sure if he was laughing at us or at the show, but, he was totally enjoying himself. My boys aged 6 & 7 thought the show was hilarious and are asking to go again this year when we visit in November. I seem to remmeber we went to first seating.
Have fun!

Keep the comments coming! I really want to hear more about the BBQ! This is such a tough decision for me!

I didn't mention that our trip is in late October, if that makes any difference...

Has no one done Mickey's Backyard BBQ? I'm starting to think that if I want the one that's less crowded... hee hee

We did Mickeys BYBBQ 2 yrs ago and it was deffinately not worth doing IMO. Although my kids were older then yours. It was cute, the food was so so and there was very little character interaction. There are many better options out there.
