We have reservations for the Hoop de Doo in Dec, but I am beginning to wonder if it is worth $50 per person. We will also have our 2 year old with us. Is it something she might enjoy or will she get bored?

We loved it! Your 2 year old might like the singing and dancing and all the action, she may even want to get up and dance! I'm not sure if she'll get bored, but it is a noisy, action packed dinner show.

Totally worth it!!!

We keep going back.

Can't get the Hoop Dee Doo Song out of my head. I hum it all the time in the shower.

We loved it when we went two years ago. Our 8 year old enjoyed herself, and we were with friends that had an 18 month old at the time, and she had a fun time! I would highly recommend it!

We love HDDR and I think you will too. Your 2 year old won't get the corny jokes, but will certainly be delighted with the music, dancing and laughter.

The foods good too.

Was it worth it ? For my family -- it was not and I know I'm probably in the minority.

We went to the first showing of the evening and our server was nowhere to be found when we needed refills on beverages or food. And at the end of the show, we were rushed out so they could start preparing for the next show.

The food was standard fare -- fried chicken, corn on the cob, strawberry shortcake. It was okay, but not the best we've ever had.

So if you're going based on whether or not you'll recieve $50 worth of food, then I would have to definitely say no.

If you think your family would enjoy a show with corny sketches, singing, etc., then it could be worth it.

For us -- we've done HDD once. amd won't go back. But I know there are those that make it annual "must do." And that's what's makes each one of us different. princess:

We loved the HDDR in June 2001. I'm now planning our trip for June 2006 and the only thing my DH requests is a return trip to O'Hana and the Hoop De Doo!

We went to went a few years ago and DS was 6 and DD was 18mos. They both loved all the music, movement dancing and excitement. Don't cancel, I think you will all have a wonderful time

We vote yes as well...we loved it! The whole Disney vacation was a splurge and this was too. Food was good and entertainment was great! I'd love to go again in a few years (maybe not every time we go). Kids were 5 and 2 and didn't get it but thought it was fun and enjoyed it completely.

Go and enjoy!

I'm thinking of booking this for my dd to give her daddy for father's day! Since we're building a new house, he'd freak if he had to pay for it, so this will cover a gift AND a meal when we go on vacation! :teeth:

Would love to hear more comments! We'll have a 4 & 5yo (different family!) in our group, and really hoping they will enjoy it!

We're going for the 8th time in June, so YES, keep the reservation.

The first time our two youngest went to the HDD was when they were 2 yrs old. They might not understand the humor, but all the singing and dancing and noise definitely keeps them interested.

Definitely worth it. My daughter was 4 the first time we went and is looking forward to going again in May (whe's 18 now). My mom went two years ago (first time at Disney) and that was the highlight of her trip. It is a great show--fun for all ages.

I definately vote YES! I was there this past January for the first time and loved it! I can't wait to go back!

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Very good entertainment with decent food. Defintiely give it a try

I would say it's definitely worth seeing once if you can afford it.
I am ambivalent about whether it's worth the price. The food is pretty basic, but you won't go hungry.
The show script is nothing special, and incredibly corny, but I was impressed with the quality and enthusiasm of the cast and how they were able to make the most of the script. It is an enjoyable show (except for the part where they hand out washboards), and some people think it's great. You might be one of them!

We won't be going back soon, but probably someday we will.

We "Hoop Dee Doo'd" the week before last. My kids were shocked to hear the theme song...they figured the old Perry Como single their Dad played was a unique instrument of torture known only to them. And now we are all singing it more than usual.

I agree with another poster, this is a splurge, but so is everything at Disney, where the rule appears to be, "Too much food for too much money." Nonetheless, we thought the fried chicken was very tasty, and the beer/wine/sangria are included. Only a couple of gripes:

The meal is served over a fairly tight timeframe, so if "all you can eat" sounds good, it's really not, because the amount of time each course of the meal is available is fairly limited. (Disclaimer: I am not a fast eater.)

We had tables at the upper rear of the balcony, and at first I was a bit ticked off because I thought there'd be no way to enjoy the show from there, but our veteran waitress explained it was better than sitting "down under" the balcony on the first floor. Sure enough, we could see the show just fine. It's odd though that the tables face AWAY from the balcony rail, meaning you must turn your chair around during those portions of the evening when the performers are "on." My kids and wife didn't mind at all (I'm the Eeyore in the group) and obviously it made the server's job very easy.

I am sure we got those seats because we only booked two weeks before-hand, so you will probably have better luck!

There is no way to justify $50 based on the food and drink, so think of half the price being for entertainment, and you can justify it. I was a bit tough on my 9-year old, trying to get him to eat a little more to "justify it..." only to have him lose his entire dinner at 2 a.m.! Ah, parental guilt...

By the way, our server informed us that she was the "newcomer" on the waitstaff with "only" 16 years (she started as a server at the Contemporary), and that the Revue is the "top spot" on the WDW foodservice ladder. She and the servers there obviously really enjoy their jobs!

We went 2 weeks ago and had a blast. The fried chicked is the best I have ever had. Seriously. I need that recipe!!! The bread is mighty good as well. Kids really enjoyed it!
Don't cancel. I think you will love it!
