Just found out our seats for the Hoop Dee Doo are on the second floor. Has anyone seen the HDD from the second floor? How is the view?

Our seats for our first visit the HDDR were on the second level, we were right next to the railing. We could see and hear everything just fine. You do not feel as "included" in all the goings on, but your view is good.

We also set next to the railing on second floor. One of the CM came to us to ask where we came from. "Part of the show." We felt very much included. Very good fried chicken.

we have sat upstairs a couple times, the veiw is actually very good. The cms do come upstairs and make you part of the show . I think you will enjoy the show no matter where you sit

We sat on the 2nd floor at a table that was parallel to the railing instead of perpendicular. While the view was fine, the fact is, if you ate, your back was to the downstairs, and you had to turn around from the table to watch the show. I can't remember if their were seats on the other side of the table, but our DD was only 4 and if we'd sat on the other side, she wouldn't have been able to see at all. As it was, she spent the whole time with her back to the table (to watch the show) and didn't eat much of the dinner.

WE ALSO SAT UPSTAIR'S, I WOULD NOT DO IT AGAIN UP THERE, OUR BACKS WHERE TO THE SHOW, MADE IT HARD TO EAT. AND NOT GOOD FOR PICTURE'S OR VIDEO. TO MANY LIGHT'S FROM THE STAGE.

Carlamom,

When I called to confirm my reservation, I asked where we were seated. Apparently, you are seated according to when you made your reservation, not what time you show up for the show.

Twelve more hours to Disney World!

The two previous times we have been we were seated first floor near the front. The last time we were front table center and the players picked on us(it was great). We had each time made our reservations several months out. This dec. I hope to have just as good seats. We made our reservations over 1 year out..smjj

I made my reservations over 1 year ago and still sat towards the back on the 1st level. I find it hard to believe all those people made their seating over a year in advance.

We sat on the second floor last week and felt very included in the show. My DD28 was picked to be a can-can(sp) girl! The actors/singers come upstairs too. It was a good time, for sure!

Loads of people make reservations for HDD as far out as possible--2 years in advance I think. I've had mine for Father's Day 2003 since August 2001! ;)

The first year we went--1993, I think--we were top floor center behind the light guy. Our reservation was only made about 4-6 months in advance for the first show. We had a ball despite being so far removed from the stage. We've gone each visit since (except for June 02, it was a last minute trip and I didn't want poor seating).

I typically make our reservation around 18 months out but no less than 12 months out (first show at 5:30). Other than the first year, we've always been seated closer and closer to the action.

Our last trip we were the 2nd row from the stage, left center. My fingers are crossed we will be dead center this time! We've always had lots of interaction with the cast and our son was the sheriff one year.

The seating is based upon date of reservation and not arrival time--at least that's what I've been told since 1993. Some of the shows are in greater demand than others, obviously--this will be our first visit at the 2nd seating/show. Hopefully, my very early res will snag us a good table next summer--it's Father's Day, after all! ;)

We were on the second floor they have tables near the railings. You can see ok, still not part of what is going on the first floor.
:p :bounce:

As my earlier post mentioned we had very good seating the two previous times we went and we always made our resv. 1+ years out. The first time we were first floor center. They chose our son to go onstage. The second time we were without the kids. We booked about 15 months out and were front row center table. They picked on us all thru the show in a humerous way. This time in Dec. we are set for the second show and made our resv. 17 months in advance. For the money I think this is one of the best shows Disney has. Others have said the food was not good or the show was not good but it all depends on your taste. We like slap stick comedy and eating chicken and ribs with our fingers...smj

We had those seats the first time we went, and they really were just fine! The players circulate up there too, so you don't feel "left out".

We're just back from our trip. I can honestly say I was extremely disappointed in the Hoop Dee Doo Review. Our seats on the second floor faced away from the show, making it very uncomfortable to eat and enjoy the show at the same time. The show was dull, not what I was expecting at all, just not up to Disney standards. Then again, there werea few things not up to usual Disney standards. Two years ago, we had lunch at the Golden Horseshoe Review (I laughed til I cried) and the show was wonderful. I guess I was expecting more of the same at the HDD.
